What is the point of this book?
Revisado: 02-27-25
It's like reading a textbook that has no point. You're just being read words and nothing goes anywhere; It's just words strung together that literally have no point.

Unfair casting for Narrator
Revisado: 06-16-24
This story doesn’t seem to fit into the first two books very well. The Narrator should never have been chosen for this book. She herself is a good narrator; but it is a complete 180 from the country girl character we fell in love with. Very disappointing!

Historia
Lark Smith has always had a plan for her life: find a fantastic guy, create a marriage as blissful as her parents’, pop out a couple of kids, and build a rewarding career as an oncologist. Things aren’t going so well. For one, the guy didn’t work out. Theoretically, she’d love to find someone else, but it hasn’t happened. Two, she’s just been transferred out of Oncology for being too emotional. (Is it her fault she’s a weeper?) Three, her parents just split up. Deviating from the plan was … well, not in the plan. A potential solution comes from the foul-tempered surgeon Lorenzo Santini.

Love Love Love
Revisado: 05-31-24
My favorite Author and by FAR my favorite Narrator. I’ll listen to anything she narrates. The characters were so well written as completely different women. The writing was almost three different stories that came together perfectly. Great job Higgins

Historia
In the rugged Pacific Northwest lies the Olympic National Forest - nearly a million acres of impenetrable darkness and impossible beauty. From deep within this old growth forest, a six-year-old girl appears. Speechless and alone, she offers no clue as to her identity, no hint of her past.

Ugh the Narrator
Revisado: 12-04-23
She either sounds too old, a stuffed up chain smoking boozer, or Mickey Mouse depending on the character she is speaking for. Terrible.

Historia
A kid walks into your bookstore and says to you, Guess what? I'm your son. The one you put up for adoption seventeen years ago. The one you never told anyone about. Surprise! His name is Matthew Walker, and he's come to spend the summer on the Cape with his parents. Why? Well, he wants to meet you before he heads off to college in the fall. Tiny detail—he didn't tell his adoptive parents about his plan. And while you hoped this day would come someday, you're so stunned, you actually faint.

Another jewel from Higgins and Xe
Revisado: 06-09-23
When your favorite Author and FAVORITE Narrator come together, it’s magic. I’ve read every one of Higgins’s books and this was by far more emotionally charged than any before. Beautiful story. Tear jerker. Grandpa is probably the best character ever.
Did I mention Xe Sands is…the best Narrator?!

Historia
It was four o'clock in the morning. A young woman pushed through the hospital doors. Staff would later say they thought the woman was a new mother, returning to her child - and in a way, she was. She walked into the nursery, where a baby girl lay sleeping. The infant didn't wake when the woman placed her gently in the shopping bag she had brought with her. There is CCTV footage of what happened next, and most Australians would have seen it, either on the internet or the news.

I SAID, HE SAID, SHE SAID over and over and over again
Revisado: 05-17-22
Omg how many times can he repeat these??!!! Absolutely driving me nuts. It’s like a 2nd grader learning how to use proper punctuation and grammar and saying it for every sentence. This story makes me feel bored and dumb.

Historia
"It's just to say that no one has come to pick Nathan up from school, and we were wondering if there was a problem of some kind?" As Mark Douglas photographs a pod of whales stranded in the waters off Edinburgh's Portobello Beach, he is called by his son's school: his wife, Lauren, hasn't turned up to collect their son. Calm at first, Mark collects Nathan and takes him home, but as the hours slowly crawl by he increasingly starts to worry.

The Narrator’s style ruins the story
Revisado: 08-23-21
The narrator reads every, and I mean every sentence, like it is the climax of the chapter. Every sentence is read with intense grandeur and it is extremely distracting. I am an hour in and I just can’t anymore. His tone and inflections are beyond annoying.
The storyline sounds great so far; I am going to happily read it the old fashioned way so I can hear the Author’s writing.
