Cyclical truth
Revisado: 04-23-25
This dystopia envisions man’s cyclical greed and ridiculous disregard for common sense and the lessons of the past.

A crucial communication link from the end of the telegraph lines in the east to Sacramento, California. A series of relay stations were established with fresh horses so the rider could get fresh mounts all along the route. The riders just changed mounts and went as fast as possible...rarely stopping their daredevil rides even to sleep and eat. It took immense courage and perseverance on the part of the riders and the relay station personnel and took about 10 days.

Overcoming the Odds to Find True Love
Revisado: 03-17-25
I love the multitude of horses in this story of racing and breeding. The feel of Keeneland is so accurate I felt I was there. Danger and betrayal follow Lizzie from Kentucky to Texas and back as she pursues her goal of improving the viability of Thoroughbred racehorses. She is the rare combination of idealist and realist-highly convicted and stubborn enough to stick to her course. Chad doesn’t see her or understand her although as kids they were inseparable. Fabulous stakes and obstacles make this story unique and satisfying.

Amazing and unforgettable
Revisado: 03-10-25
This story combines a tragic reality with a beautiful love story. The demise of America’s natural features, whether inert or living, is a fact of history. The love the heroine Kristy pours into documenting a single herd and her determination to tell their story is admirable.
The romance is sweet and I’m happy that Bob finally gets a chance at a loving future. If you’re a horse lover and a fan of the West and/or icons like the Wild Mustang, you’ll laugh and cry over this story. It will remain with you long after you’ve finished the final word.
The Virtual Voice narrator isn’t as good as a human one. That said, it isn’t horrible. If you’re an audiobook listener out of necessity, this fills the bill. If you have time to read the ebook or paperback, that works too. Whichever format you choose, this is a novel you don’t want to miss.

Despite the overwhelming amount of resources for time management and work-life balance, the ability to cultivate the efficiency and equilibrium needed to manage all our worthy pursuits can often feel frustratingly out of reach. The reason for our struggle is that productivity and time-management systems focus on individual habits rather than more meaningful and lasting lifestyle changes. But as it turns out, there is a better way to reach our full potential.

These principles not only make sense Biblically, but they make sense as reasonable steps to become more disciplined and this more productive. I don’t know about you, but that’s exactly what my life needs. More Jesus and more time.

Lovely story of healing
Revisado: 01-23-25
The book captured me from the first scene and never let go until the last. The blend of D-Day as a backdrop with each character’s individual struggle juxtaposed atop their joint journeys made this novel unforgettable. Bravo!

I enjoyed the golem legend and the mysteries surrounding it: the original rabbi, the river clay, the parchment that brought it to life and the supernatural gentleness it possessed with Katerina.
The beginning moved a bit slowly for me, but I really enjoyed Josef and Katerina together and the juxtaposition of life and death - protection and sacrifice - killing and murder. If you like unique perspectives on world events, you’ll enjoy this story.

Historia
People often believe that the years immediately prior to AD 1000 were, with just a few exceptions, lacking in any major cultural developments or geopolitical encounters, that the Europeans hadn’t yet reached North America, and that the farthest feat of sea travel was the Vikings’ invasion of Britain. But how, then, to explain the presence of blond-haired people in Maya temple murals at Chichén Itzá, Mexico? Could it be possible that the Vikings had found their way to the Americas during the height of the Maya empire?

This dip into history was easily- understood and well-read by the narrator. Learning about all the various trade routes and goods was interesting and gave me plenty of ideas for conflict and governmental set-up for my novels.
