Very rocky and flat
Revisado: 04-28-25
No self respecting group of vampires would lay claim to the protagonist of this story. He’s whiny and extremely repetitive, oh and repetitive… did I say repetitive? I can boil my opinion down to the fact that I own the second book in this series but I’m not even going to bother loading it up… it can just sit in my unread list, completely ignored.
I will say that the narration was very well done. The voices were all distinct, easy to know which character was speaking and the pacing was good.

Nothing like throwing a main character “under the bus”. Seems to me to be a complete left turn from the rest of the series and I didn’t enjoy it or agree with the way it went.

When unforeseen circumstances during an innovative—and unsanctioned—commercial asteroid-mining mission leave two crew members stranded, those who make it back must engineer a rescue, all while navigating a shifting web of global political alliances and renewed Cold War tensions. With Earth governments consumed by the ravages of climate change and unable to take the risks necessary to make rapid progress in space, the crew must build their own next-gen spacecraft capable of mounting a rescue in time for the asteroid's next swing by Earth.

Not up to the level of his other books!
Revisado: 08-04-23
Paid by the word this time Daniel? This was a good story but could have been told effectively in less than half as many words. Extremely redundant and needlessly explanatory. I almost gave up on it numerous times but started skipping through all the repetition.
Narration was “ok” but narrator’s female characters lacked any differentiation from the males. Made it difficult to figure out who was speaking.
Maybe find an abridged version or just spend your credit somewhere else.

Historia
Timothy Walter Bolton - better known as Timmy - has spent most of his life as a necromancer. When he isn't terrorising his enemies, he's plotting inside his castle, which is built on top of lightless chasms filled with nameless horrors and beings of a generally malevolent and megalomaniacal nature. But after one of his latest creations, a zombie hydra-dragon-bear, tries to eat him, he decides that maybe it's time to find a new, less dangerous, career.

This set of books seems to be rather formulaic. While I enjoyed the listen (it was free, and worth every cent…) I don’t see myself spending a credit to pursue the story any further…

"No killing Goblins." So reads the sign outside of The Wandering Inn, a small building run by a young woman named Erin Solstice. She serves pasta with sausage, blue fruit juice, and dead acid flies on request. And she comes from another world. Ours. It's a bad day when Erin finds herself transported to a fantastical world and nearly gets eaten by a Dragon. She doesn't belong in a place where monster attacks are a fact of life, and where Humans are one species among many. But she must adapt to her new life. Or die.

Wandering through 43 hours of…?
Revisado: 04-30-23
Pretty much enjoyed the first two thirds of this tome… the final third wasn’t for me at all. Don’t want to go anywhere that could be considered “spoiler territory” so i won’t elaborate. YMMV… Also, this is the first book in a long series and there were definitely a collection of loose ends and dangling plot elements, in spite of the length of this book.
I certainly will not be wandering any further in this series…

Historia
Verily, the story Biff has to tell is a miraculous one, filled with remarkable journeys, magic, healings, kung fu, corpse reanimations, demons, and hot babes. Even the considerable wiles and devotion of the Savior's pal may not be enough to divert Joshua from his tragic destiny. But there's no one who loves Josh more (except maybe "Maggie," Mary of Magdalan) and Biff isn't about to let his extraordinary pal suffer and ascend without a fight.

A commercial in the end credits?
Revisado: 03-30-23
Really???
I didn’t pay enough for this book, you have the gall to put commercials in it???
Anyway,
I’d read this book about 15 years ago, it didn’t hold up to my expectations. Also the editing was poor and the character voices weren’t easy to distinguish.

Forty hours of my life
Revisado: 02-05-23
Forty hours of my life lost and at least forty hanging threads…
Guess it was my fault for not checking deeper, I normally enjoy Hamilton’s books but no way I’ll waste any more hours on any continuation of this series.
Hard to follow transitions between various tracks of the “plot”… you better be really good at remembering characters by name and be able to seamlessly switch your head from one scenario to another without any audible clues.
Overall, totally frustrated by this book…
