The voice just didn't work for me and starting off with complex recipes. It seems too many Paleo books want to make meals more complex than they need to be. I got to the lunch menus before I decided this book isn't what I expected. I don't have hours to spend making meals. People make Paleo more complex than it needs to be. Best diet advice I heard was repeat a few simple meals and have more complex meals as a reward/treat.
Why not have a a simple breakfast that takes 10 minutes total time to prepare, bacon and eggs, maybe a fruit smoothie
lunch Salad with a meat side, or a simple soup, dinner veggies, meat and maybe something like sweet potatoes. Snacks, fruit, nuts jerky or some weekend made snacks.
Didn't get to the challenge part since the meals where dragging on but maybe it would have been helpful.

Angela Shivoe would not be an officer, unless she got her degree in the while in the Army and then went to OCS. I wish authors would do a bit of homework or someone would point this out before going to print. Story is okay but Fletch keeps getting lucky to the point it is expected.

My main issue is Angela would not be an officer without going to college. She would just be an enlisted member. Bother's me that writers overlook details like this. Had she told her story that she did a couple years, then went ROTC and came back, sure she could be a great officer. Other than this minor detail the story is a great spin on the end of the world concept. I listen to these for entertainment as well as what really could happen? Like Covid19, this one hit us out of the blue, preppers like me are, we tried to tell you something could happen. Anyways, great story and good narrator, I will keep listening. Maybe if the Author reads this he could give a bit of a back story how someone with out college became an officer. Maybe she got a battle field promotion during the early days? Just something to think about from an old combat vet.

The voice is hard to listen to and the advice is pretty general and similar to other books on the topic. I like sex and porn as much as the next guy but I didn't need detailed example of what not to send, I get the idea. Might have some useful advice later on but while walking my dog listening to it, I decided to do what I do with a bad movie, turn it off and do something else.
Don't get all the 5 star reviews but hopefully this will help others.
Bottom line it seems just another person trying to make a buck teaching single guys how to get with women. I was hoping for some advice on how to restart a relationship with someone special that seems to enjoy being single. In my 40s these ideas don't seem to apply, since I have done what was outlined so far. If you are curious, yes this woman and I had sex, a few times so attraction and interest was there once.

I have listened to the Going Home Series all a few times and Duke makes the story easy to listen to but these books all have a common theme, that takes away from the story a bit, food. Meals are often a plot by themselves. No "hero" goes hungry and they always find food, in these books rarely does a "hero" go days with out food.

Another minor detail that just bugs me as lazy writing is there doesn't seem to be much research done on the military. A captain is a company commander in the Army, not a platoon leader as stated.

Not sure if this is connected to the Going Home books or not but too many things are the same not to be. I guess kind of like Walking and Fear are connected.

Anyways if I was trying to read the last few books I would have given up, Duke makes these books decent to listen to but the minor errors especially in print would have driven me away.

I have listened to this series many times and the reader is great. The story now seems like the writers fantasy if things fall apart. It seems food falls into their lap. going back to the first book were Morgan finds a deer heart and Sarg with steaks. Wouldn't take much to have Morgen go a couple of days with out food and then find Sarg or the left over deer. He goes to get his parents, only taking Sarg and Danny? Really? No much of a force, when things are still questionable. Doc at least should have gone so they have some medical help. Why do we get built up for these big battles/ conflicts only to them end with a air raid? Not saying it is what we want but why does the Russians get taken out with an air raid? Would they not know that could happen and prepare for it? How about they get hit and Morgan and his gang have to mop up? I could go on and on with things that don't ad up but I love listening to the books. Duke makes this for me, it is like hearing a good story from a friend. I never worry about who is talking. Dalton is just over the top. He worked in corrections but is more skilled than I assume Special Forces ? Sarg let's him in to their band without knowing a damn thing about him. Could have had a chat where Sarg pull him aside and asked, So Dalton what's your story, how did you end up here with this band of misfits? Dalton could reply/ I am was a US Marchel , I used to track down people that needed killing or tracking down. I spent my free time training in anything that gave me an edge from martial arts to black smiting, just never thought it would be needed.
Close up your gaps and make things happen besides seems like letting your cast eat well. The good for the main cast seems to come from everywhere. No one is hungry no suspense. . Like back in the 1st book, for example, Jess and I ran out of food 2 days ago and seeing a deer meant food.
Food seems to come too easy with everyone else starving.
Another huge flaw back a couple books ago. "Morgan" mentioned no wedding pictures. Don't they have 4 commie cell phones, Jeff's Ipad and all the Military gear? They had no way or no one though of wedding pictures?

After following these books for more than 20 years I give up and returned the next one. Killed off 3 main characters with no real reason and the next books jumps 100 or so years in the future. I guess after Salvatore did a Star Wars book he followed that path and completely changed the story, dropping long time characters to try to reinvent things. Had thought to introduce my children to the series but more than likely won't. From changing readers to trying to fit in old characters that don;t seem to fit, I just don't feel the passion the books once had,.

What did you like best about Conflicted Home? What did you like least?
I like that the characters are moving forward but very slowly. There seems to be a head count that the author feels he needs to keep up with, meaning people die and are kind of replaced.

What could A. American have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?
Keep track of past items. For example they mentioned a family photo. Did Jeff's I-Pad stop working or a lap top? What about the Russian's phones? Morgan still has some tech and he could get with the judge that has a working printer. Details like that seem well lazy to me.

Which character – as performed by Duke Fontaine – was your favorite?
Hard to say, Duke does an amazing job with each having their own voice. I often listen while do things around the house and never have I mixed up who is talking.

Do you think Conflicted Home needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?
The Russian and Cuban threats need to be more of the story. Hard to keep my interest with what started off as an action series and now is little house after the EMP.

Any additional comments?
Best advice is keep some action in the books. The daily stuff is fine but lately been the focus not the story of how to deal with invading threats.

Not the Survivalist series but decent. Seems a solid stand alone book but could continue. One thing that bugs me but I can forgive is none of the main characters in any of Chris' books ever go without food. They find a deer, people give away food and so on. Be nice to have people struggle for a few days then trade an extra gun for food, for example. The van is cool though.
