Such a deep story

Loved the deep character development. High recommend. I liked the other two books in the series as well.

Narration is monotone and ends in cliffhanger

So, I had said that I wouldn't purchase any Virtual Voice books. I believe we should pay people for their talent. Whose voice is this anyway? That said, this one snuck by me at the last sale so I figured I would give it a go. And now I know that I won't be purchasing any more Virtual Voice books. The tone is so flat - hardly any inflection at all. This is supposed to be a suspense book and there was barely a change in pitch at all. Second, the story was alright. I have to say that I have never had the courage to write a book so I admire that. And generally I am all good with suspension of disbelief. But this one just had too many things one would go "huh??" at. A person charged with murder after barely a week, no real murder scene, no body. A very close person to you being murdered but you don't leave work. I really didn't find it very suspenseful. I could say more but I don't want to spoil the storyline.

And finally and the kicker - this is a cliffhanger!!! I can't stand these stupid books that don't tell you that you have to invest more money and time to get to the end. And I didn't think the next book was out but I think I figured out that it is. I only wish I had bought the book with a credit because then I could get my credit back, but i used money... I will not be purchasing the next book.

YUCK!! YUCK AND MORE YUCK!!

I know many folks must like this type of book and I don't have a problem with that. But why can't we get a better system to tell us what the content of books are like. Like a BDSM rating or something of the content before we buy!! To say I disliked these books is mild.

So, my listening to this story starts with me accidentally (had the phone in my pocket) purchasing the second book in this trilogy. I have listend to one other RIna Kent book and I didn't like it. But because I bought it with money not a credit - no refund. Why couldn't it have been the first book I bought by mistake!!! So, when the sale came up last month I bought book 1 and 3.... HUGE MISTAKE. Had I known more about the content I would never have purchased it. This book contains lots of SM with lots of dubious consent. The "hero" in the story is COMPLETELY unlikable - a total stalker (installs cameras in her house, lets himself in without permission, decides what clothes she can wear, on and on)! And he likes to dole out punishments for the most ridiculous things like using the word "Okay" or "talking back". And why is it that when someone loves to beat it is always the man? Why are there no stories of men liking to be beaten so badly with a belt that they need "after care" and can't sit the next day. The word used was whipped. Once I would like for one of these women to turn the tables. For all of book 1 & 2 she wants to get away and tries to run away.

The only redeeming feature of the series is that the suspense angle is really good. I ended up listening to the whole damn thing because now I owned the stupid series. Book 2 was the worst - it is suppose to be 9 hours - I probably finished in 3!!! Pretty much every s.x scene is gross!! So, there goes about $25 (on all three books)!!!

Great book, but if you have not started with the first books I recommend you do that. They are all phenomenal!!

I just can't

I have never rated a book before and I listened to many, but I just can't continue. I've listened to all the previous books and enjoyed them all (BDSM and all). But kidnapping a woman from her work and tying her up and cutting her clothes off when she hasn't consented is rape. And a woman not being terrified of a guy who does that after having known him for a few days (and he is a convicted felon) is completely unrealistic. And him doing this because she wants to use the bus to go to work like she always has and won't submit to him and take his car.

I guess some women might like this type of Alphahole, but I like stories with strong woman who submit because they want - not are bullied. Not romantic or erotic.
