Historia
Anahrod lives only for survival, forging her own way through the harsh jungles of the Deep with her titan drake by her side. Even when an adventuring party saves her from capture by a local warlord, she is eager to return to her solitary life. But this is no ordinary rescue. It’s Anahrod’s past catching up with her. These cunning misfits—and their frustratingly appealing dragonrider ringleader—intend to spirit her away to the dragon-ruled sky cities, where they need her help to steal from a dragon’s hoard.

Imagine being chased by a Bigfoot, stalked by a Skinwalker, or sucked into another dimension that’s a disturbingly dark mirror of our own. What would you do when the very creature that’s stalking you is like nothing you’ve ever encountered and the sight of it freezes you to the bone? How dangerous is it being a Park Ranger? In peaceful parks where sunshine reigns, not very. However, there are places where unknown things roam loose, and hunters become prey. These stories come from such places. Once you step inside this dark world there’s no going back. These eleven stories from ...

STOP WITH THE AI NARRATION
Revisado: 06-17-24
I didn’t notice the virtual narrator for a free titles I picked up recently. If I had, I would have passed on them. Never again.
AI voices are good enough for short articles or as an aid for people with vision or reading problems, but an actual narrator is always the correct choice of there is an option.
As for the book itself, if you just take it as a collection of wilderness themed Creepy Pastas, it’s quite entertaining.

Historia
In this revised and expanded edition of Richard Dolan's previous classic on the UFO subject, he brings the listener through the tumultuous journey of the UFO/UAP subject through the early 2020s. This includes a detailed treatment of the changes to our public discussion of UFOs since 2017 and what is the likely end point of this new direction. But Dolan provides much more than this, including providing critical context of the UFO subject within the broader social, political, and technological developments of our world, something that makes him unique among UFO researchers.

A good overview, with a few quirks
Revisado: 03-05-24
Overall this is a fantastic and even overview of the history of UFO sightings and research. The author is totally bought in on the realty of the “extraterrestrial hypothesis”, but does a pretty good job of covering all of the angles, including the challenges that point of view faces. The only real disappointment comes from his political analysis. Viewing everything through the conspiracy lens leads to some off-base viewers that aren’t supported by the facts (since he assumes any facts that would work against his conspiracy theory are part of the conspiracy, but sometimes a fact is just a fact). Regardless, I’d recommend this to anyone who wants a thorough overview without as much hysteria as usual

Historia
Inhumanoids are creatures or entities that have some type of human characteristic but are not human at all. Even though they sometimes appear as 'less than human,' they are quite beyond the normal sense of the word and possess a troubling array of supernatural powers to prove the point. Some are true 'bi-forms;' curious anthropomorphic mixtures of human and animals, while others manifest themselves in guises that one might pass by on the street and never give a second glance. From the smallest fairy to the tallest giant and every form in between, these inhumanoid beings, in all their myriad...

Interesting and entertaining, virtual voice is bad
Revisado: 03-01-24
Entertaining book, about what you'd expect, Though, I wasn’t expecting the sudden left turn into hysterical religiosity at the very end…
Mostly I wanted to comment on the virtual voice. It's lightyears better than in years past, but it's still not there. The inflections will be off, some words are consistently mispronounced, and there will be strange, long pauses in the middle of sentences. If you're going to use a virtual voice, at least do an editing pass to remove image captions and things that the virtual voice will read oddly. Or, just use a real narrator, that's clearly still the best option.

Was this written by AI too?
Revisado: 02-11-24
The voice is virtual, and it’s fine, but the words themselves sound like they were written by an AI. Surface level information at best, and some odd word choices lead to this conclusion. Either way, I couldn’t take it

Alright story, terrible narrator
Revisado: 11-18-22
The story was ok. Basic gritty noir but set on the moon (though that only seems to matter occasionally, it seems moon gravity comes and goes as needed). The real problem is the narrator. He seems to have four “voices”: normal, breathy, gravely, and nasally. Women are nearly all breathy (but occasionally nasally), maybe three of characters are gravely, and the rest are nasally. Big bouncer? Nasally voice. Petite lawyer? Nasally voice. Random criminal? Nasally voice. It’s frankly comical most of the time.

I can't agree with the negative reviews
Revisado: 08-04-22
TLDR: I enjoyed this book almost as much as the previous two. The dilution of the focus, while inevitable, did make it a bit weaker, but not enough to say it's a bad book or a weak end to the story. If you've come this far, I'd say just go ahead and finish it.
I'm not sure what the negative reviews are all about; I went in expecting disappointment but ultimately felt this was a solid conclusion to the trilogy.
Maybe it's the amount of time spent with the invasion fleet? I did feel there was a bit too much of that, particularly in the beginning, but it makes sense given the omnipresent narrator of the series.
Maybe it was how the story got larger and larger and thus less focused? That's a valid criticism, but it's also the nature of this type of story. It started with a conspiracy of just a handful of people, but by the start of this book, it was a global story and then some.
Some have mentioned how abrupt the final battle is. Well, yes, but you should have expected that. At the speeds involved and with the weaponry in play, it would never be a prolonged event. Moreover, once the pieces were set in motion, only the soldiers involved would have any impact. That should not have come as a surprise.
The twists and turns in the paths of several central characters were well set up and paid off well. There's plenty of debate to be had regarding their actions and the reactions to them, but that is as designed.

Good, not great
Revisado: 11-09-21
The story was quite interesting, and the world building was good. The problem is it needs another pass by a good editor. Awkward phrasing, incorrect words, and florid prose are all through this book, making it a trying listen at times. To be clear, I’m not talking about the characters who spoke broken English, I’m talking about the text of the story itself.
There’s also a terrible tendency for the characters to not notice or figure out the most obvious “mysteries”. The only reason a good bit of the action happens the way it does is because the characters either act stupid, or make decisions no thinking person ever would.
All that said, again the story is fairly interesting, and I may still check out more of the series.

Strange narration choices
Revisado: 11-06-21
Everything was great, even the narration, it was just oddly jumbled. Some scenes are fully voiced, some are just the one narrator, with no obvious reason why. It’s jarring, especially when scenes happen back to back and the voice actor and narrator have vastly divergent interpretations of the character. Aside from this the actors and narrator were great, i just wish they’d picked one style and stuck with it
