Truly an epic adventure
Revisado: 03-11-25
Truly an epic adventure! Likable characters with good development so you care about them. Twists & unexpected turns to keep you guessing. Evil has its own cadre of despicable characters you hope get what’s coming to them. Can’t wait for the next book. Recommend binge listening the series.

Epic & unexpected
Revisado: 12-21-24
I wasn’t sure what to think at first because of the initial people/world/lore data overload, and since I enjoyed her other less modern series so much I was excited for a new series to try. Once it got into the flow of the story it was epic and drew me in. I haven’t cried in a book for a long time, but this one hit me several times. The author makes you care about the characters and become invested in their story. I can’t wait to delve into the next book in the series.

Everyone expected Violet Sorrengail to die during her first year at Basgiath War College – Violet included. But Threshing was only the first impossible test meant to weed out the weak-willed, the unworthy, and the unlucky. Now the real training begins, and Violet’s already wondering how she’ll get through. It’s not just that it’s grueling and maliciously brutal, or even that it’s designed to stretch the riders’ capacity for pain beyond endurance. A nonstop story of action and intrigue. The heroine sounds like a broken record at times, but otherwise a great story. Can’t wait for the next book to come out

Kitty Norville is back and in more trouble than ever. Her recent run-in with werewolves traumatized by the horrors of war has made her start wondering how long the U.S. government might have been covertly using werewolves in combat. Have any famous names in our own history actually been supernatural?

Favorite characters, darkness of war
Revisado: 09-01-23
I loved that my favorite characters were at play and that they visited Toussant. The jumping around and the sheer unrelenting harshness of war was a bit dark at times.

Revisado: 06-05-23
You get to know some of the beloved characters from the game & tv show in their original incarnations. Some of the scenes were harsher & more edgy, but the overall story & telling were well done. The narrator is now one of my favorites!
