Historia
What happens when everything around you seems perfect - your family, your health, your social status, your overall life - but all of a sudden something threatens to tear it all apart and rob you of what you've always known? This type of thing happens to many people, every day, from all walks of life. Some are able to get over it and go on with their lives. But others are not so fortunate. They find themselves stuck in their own meltdown of loss, hurt, and pain. Such is the situation in Marita L. Kinney's latest novel.

loved the story of how secrets can destroy not just you but a generation. God can't comfort what we won't confront. i didn't' like the AI generated narrator.. no emotion in characters roles.

Historia
Transformative and breathtakingly honest, The American Queen is based on actual events that occurred between 1865 - 1889 and shares the unsung history of a Black woman who built a kingdom in Appalachia as a refuge for the courageous people who dared to dream of a different way of life. Over the twenty-four years she was enslaved on the Montgomery Plantation, Louella learned to feel one thing: hate. Hate for the man who sold her mother. Hate for the overseer who left her daddy to hang from a noose. Hate so powerful there's no room in her heart for love.

How one young girl grew to lead others to see her dream of freedom become a reality for so many like a Moses! The same oak tree that caused so much hurt for her and others was used to build and save their community.. their kingdom..the Happy Land or Promise land! Vanessa you did it again! the historical story of our people's faith and perseverance to claim what was rightfully theirs as God's people...as human beings!
