Historia
In her essay on Jacquetta, Philippa Gregory uses original documents, archaeology and histories of myth and witchcraft to create the first-ever biography of the young duchess who was to survive two reigns and two wars to become the first lady at two rival courts. David Baldwin, established author on the Wars of the Roses, tells the story of Elizabeth Woodville, the first commoner to marry a king of England for love, and Michael Jones, fellow of the Royal Historical Society, writes of Margaret Beaufort, the almost-unknown matriarch of the House of Tudor. The Women of the Cousins’ War will appeal to all.

Wonderful!

Great research on the women who changed history. Fascinating how they learned so much about women who could have been forgotten in a man’s world. Loved it!

Historia
Two men, each handsome and unusually adept at his chosen work, embodied an element of the great dynamic that characterized America’s rush toward the twentieth century. The architect was Daniel Hudson Burnham, the fair’s brilliant director of works and the builder of many of the country’s most important structures, including the Flatiron Building in New York and Union Station in Washington, D.C. The murderer was Henry H. Holmes, a young doctor who, in a malign parody of the White City, built his “World’s Fair Hotel” just west of the fairgrounds.

Wanted more
Revisado: 10-13-22
The juxtaposition between characters was interesting but didn’t flow well. Love the history and am an avid collector of Columbian Exposition items. Frightfully dull at times and never fully engaged in what could have been a completely riveting story.

Anna Anderson part was lame
Revisado: 10-13-22
I couldn’t get into the constantly shifting timelines and characters. I knew how it would end but still listening hoping for a better story about the person claiming to be Anastasia.

Historia
In 1942, the Gestapo sent out an urgent transmission: "She is the most dangerous of all Allied spies. We must find and destroy her." The target in their sights was Virginia Hall, a Baltimore socialite who talked her way into Special Operations Executive, the spy organization dubbed Winston Churchill's "Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare." She became the first Allied woman deployed behind enemy lines and - despite her prosthetic leg - helped to light the flame of the French Resistance, revolutionizing secret warfare as we know it.

Narration was like nails on a chalkboard
Revisado: 10-13-22
Accents of characters were cringeworthy and as much as I love history and historical fiction this story was definitely boring at best. Sorry. Wish I could have loved it but your credits could be better used elsewhere
