Historia
On the way home from his latest mission, secret agent Kangaroo's spacecraft is wrecked by a rogue mining robot. The agency tracks the bot back to the Moon, where a retired asteroid miner—code named "Clementine" —might have information about who's behind the sabotage. Clementine will only deal with Jessica Chu, Kangaroo's personal physician and a former military doctor once deployed in the asteroid belt. Kangaroo accompanies Jessica as a courier, smuggling Clementine's payment of solid gold in the pocket universe that only he can use.

Lots of missing points
Revisado: 09-14-23
We have a spy with a superpower which has not been fully exploited. And, the spy seems way under trained. This could be a better series. Maybe the author will grow into the work. As the series has potential, I hope so, else the series will remain an amateur production.

Historia
Kangaroo isn't your typical spy. Sure, he has extensive agency training, access to bleeding-edge technology, and a ready supply of clever (to him) quips and retorts. But what sets him apart is "the pocket". It's a portal that opens into an empty, seemingly infinite parallel universe, and Kangaroo is the only person in the world who can use it. But he's pretty sure the agency keeps him around only to exploit his superpower.

Not bad
Revisado: 08-29-23
The story was entertaining. The concept was innovative. The narration was pretty good. I got a bit irritated with the Kangaroo's whining and self centered introspection. There were parts that did not make much sense from the point of view of reality, but these did not detract too much.
On the whole, a fair to middle read for a summer's afternoon.

The culture wars are over and the idiots have won. This is a veteran journalist’s caustically funny, righteously angry lament about the glorification of ignorance in the United States. The three Great Premises of Idiot America: · Any theory is valid if it sells books, soaks up ratings, or otherwise moves units; anything can be true if someone says it loudly enough; "fact" is that which enough people believe. And "truth" is determined by how fervently they believe it.

Wow! Nailed it.
Revisado: 08-15-23
Okay, first a disclaimer, I'm a liberal. Not a hard left liberal, more middle left.
The narration of this book is maybe the best I have ever heard. And I do a lot of audio books. Simply top rate. Six stars or more.
The book is a no punches withheld tale of what is wrong with America. And the author was correct in every instance. He presented his case with humor and obvious disgust at the idiots who were the true living characters living in America and believing the self aggrandizing BS our leaders shovel as fodder into our pens. His thesis is powerful and well documented.
To simply summarize the book, Americans are gullible and unthinking, and leadership is uncaring and self promoting. Neither groups care one whit about the truth, knowledge, or science. Only their personal opinions matter.
I have only one further comment. I wonder what the author would think of the America of Donald Trump, I would urge a sequel evaluating Idiot America from where this book left off through 2024. it would sell like funnel cakes at the State Fair.

Lummox has been the pet of the Stuart family for generations. With eight legs, a thick hide, and increasingly large size, Lummox is nobody's idea of man's best friend. Nevertheless, John Stuart XI, descendant of the starman who originally brought Lummox back to Earth, loves him. But when Lummox eats a neighbor's car and begins to grow again, the feds decide that enough is enough.

Vantage Heinlein
Revisado: 07-18-23
it is a joy to read Heinlein's books from the mid 20th Century. it reminds one of much of the culture from 70 or 80 years ago. Cigarettes, hats, life on Venus and more. it certainly makes me smile. I wonder what Heinlein and his peers would make of 2023? I'd bet the SF books they would write about our age would be hilarious.
Read him and enjoy. I certainly did.

In one of Robert Heinlein's most controversial best sellers, a recruit of the future goes through the toughest boot camp in the universe - and into battle with the Terrain Mobile Infantry against mankind's most alarming enemy.

Better than the movie
Revisado: 06-09-23
Vantage Heinlein. And, anything Heinlein is a worthy read. Dated, yes, but entertaining and an interesting look into the past. There is a lot of Heinlein's philosophy of government and his take on human behavior that I found particularly interesting. The book was first published in 1959. There is a companion book, STARSHIP SOLDIERS, published about the same time. I have not found it yet. So, sit back and enjoy this book, and don't let the bugs get you.

Historia
Ross Jenkins, Art Mueller, and Morris Abrams are not your average high-school students. While other kids are cruising around in their cars or playing ball, this trio, known as the Galileo Club, is experimenting with rocket fuels. Art's uncle, the nuclear physicist Dr. Donald Cargraves, offers them the opportunity of a lifetime: to construct and crew a rocket that will take them to the moon. But there are those who don't share their dream and who will stop at nothing to keep their rocket grounded.

Revisado: 06-07-23
Worth the time to read. Nazis, moon men, nuclear powered rocket ships, genius kids. This book has it all. Written in 1947, closely after WWII and the defeat of the Nazis and their use of rockets as weapons, Heinlein made many fantastic predictions about rockets, space travel. and space exploration that in 2023 find way off base, moon men indeed. However, it is very interesting to get a look into the 1947 mind of a true visionary. A fun, if unrealistic, story. One of Heinlein's early works.

A mediocre McCaffrey
Revisado: 05-27-23
I love Anne's books. Unfortunately this was the weakest piece of work in this unfinished story. The middle of the book dragged badly and could have been shortened significantly to allow for more of the story. And. more of the story was left on the table and never written. There are at least two books unwritten in this wonderful series.
I strongly recommend this series to everyone. McCaffery is a great writer of science fiction. Her many stories never fail to thrill and entertain. Her characters are developed to such an extent one wants to know them personally and be involved in their adventures as a friends and companion.

Narration Problems
Revisado: 01-31-23
Don't get me wrong, the narration was not bad, it just was not up to the narration standard set in the first few books. Even Dick Hill, who narrated one of the previous books and who is one of the best in the business, was not as good as the original narrator. it is too bad Rizzo? did not continue this series.
Otherwise, s pretty good read.

Historia
When Van Tudor returns to his childhood home, he inherits more than the family farm. His grandfather used to tell him fantastic stories of spacemen and monsters, princesses and galactic knights. Little did Van realize, the old man's tales were more than fiction; they were real. Hidden beneath the old barn, Van’s legacy is waiting: a starship, not of this world. With his combat AI, an android bird named Perry, Van takes his first steps into the wider galaxy. He soon finds that space is far busier and more dangerous than he could have ever conceived.

Revisado: 08-07-22
Not a fan of the Jack Web style of narration; but I'm sure others are. Just not my thing. I'll not continue with this series. It seems very artificial and pushes the boundaries of credulity beyond my tolerance. I'm sure many will really like it, but it is not for me.
