Historia

God bog, men NØJ HVOR VAR HUN IRRITERENDE!!

Historia
Victory is in sight for Kivilaz and his Batavi army. The Roman army clings desperately to its remaining fortresses along the Rhine, its legions riven by dissent and mutiny, and once-loyal allies of Rome are beginning to imagine the unimaginable: freedom from the rulers who have dominated them since the time of Caesar. The four centurions - two Batavi and two Roman, men who were once comrades in arms - must find their destiny in a maze of loyalties and threats, as the blood tide of war ebbs and flows across Germania and Gaul.

What a great line of books, Centurions.
Great storry, and very neutral. I had problems pointing out the bad guys.
The Batavi was for most part good, but they ro commited horrible things.
Loved the story, wich is close to history.
Only thing missing is the auther's view of Civilis ending.

Historia
On 25 April 1915, Allied forces landed on the Gallipoli Peninsula in present-day Turkey to secure the sea route between Britain and France in the west and Russia in the east. After eight months of terrible fighting, they would fail. Turkey regards the victory to this day as a defining moment in its history, a heroic last stand in the defence of the nation's Ottoman Empire.

Historia
Rise of ISIS gives a better understanding of the modern face of terror, and provides an overview of the laws of war and war crimes. These laws differentiate between the guilty and innocent, and explain why the US military and the Israeli Defense Forces are often limited in their defensive measures. The authors’ firsthand experience, including multiple appearances before the Office of the Prosecutor, International Criminal Court at The Hague, along with direct contact battling jihadists during operation Iraqi Freedom lends insight into this important geopolitical issue.

Revisado: 12-01-14
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
A more neutral view
What was most disappointing about Jay Sekulow’s story?
US and Israel are the heroes, the international left (who ever they are) are the bad ones and the extremist Muslims must die.
How could the performance have been better?
He should have stopped the story before starting with the Hamas part. He should stop watching Fox
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
The mention of ISIS/ISIL or IS (Idiotic State) have chemical weapons, gain from Iraq. Since 2003 US led coalition forces search Iraq for WMD, and found nothing. Now some Jihadist invade Iraq, and find them in les than a year?? And where is the ISIS M1A1?
Any additional comments?
When democratic nations put their own soldiers on trial, for committing war crimes, we do that because we are free democratic nations. If we don't charge our owns if they commit crimes, we are no better than the foe, and will become like them. Remember, You are innocent until proven otherwise.

Why we think it’s a great listen: Never before has an author’s narration of his fiction been so important to fully grasping the book’s impact and global implications. Taking us from Afghanistan in the final days of its monarchy to the present, The Kite Runner is the unforgettable story of the friendship between two boys growing up in Kabul. Their intertwined lives, and their fates, reflect the eventual tragedy of the world around them.

Historia
With Alec Campbell's death, a door has closed to which no one has the key. Australia has lost the last direct link to one of the nation's most significant events and to a breed of Australians who have become larger than life - legends in our national psyche. He was not at Gallipoli long, though he dodged his share of bullets, saw his mates get shot and suffered fever and sickness as did so many of his peers.

Revisado: 04-24-12
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
I mistook the book for a story about the battle of Gallipoli.
Which character ??? as performed by Peter Byrne ??? was your favorite?
I'm just a big fan of Peter Byrne
You didn???t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
It was a story abut a great man, who spend most of his life, improving the life of the working class.
Any additional comments?
No doubt that Alec Campbell was a great man. But the battle of Gallipoli was a tiny bit of his life. Maybe not in his mind, but at least in time spend there. So the front cover of the book, is kind of misleading, since there where other things in his life, that took a great deal of his life. The Unions and the sailing. I was searching for a book about the battle of Gallipoli and about the daily life of the ANZAC troops. I just got the wrong book.

With robust clarity, Hitchens frames the argument for a more secular life based on science and reason, in which Hell is replaced by the Hubble Telescope's awesome view of the universe, and Moses and the burning bush give way to the beauty and symmetry of the double helix. God Is Not Great marvels at the possibility of society without religion.

Good book, but I lack some english.
Revisado: 12-27-11
Would you try another book from Christopher Hitchens and/or Christopher Hitchens?
Absolutely.
What did you like best about this story?
That It gave me some new reasons to be opponent of religion.
How could the performance have been better?
Mr. Hitchens could have been more clear in his reading. He mumbled a bit :-).
Was God Is Not Great worth the listening time?
Yes indeed.
Any additional comments?
Unfortunately for me, I don't speak that well English. So there where some part of the book, that I didn't understand. But I can hardly blame that on Mr. Hitchens :-). After listening to his book, I began viewing a lot of his debates on the internet. I have then become a great fan of him. What a loss, that he just died. But searching on his name, gave me a lot of other persons with the same views. So all is not lost ;-).

Historia
In this explosive account of wrongful acts and ongoing cover-ups, Jesse Ventura takes a systematic look at the wide gap between what the American government knows and what it reveals to the American people. For too long, we the people have sat by and let politicians and bureaucrats from both parties obfuscate and lie. And according to this former Navy SEAL, former pro wrestler, and former Minnesota governor, the media is complicit in these acts of deception.
