another fun story from this author. I hate when MCs do something stupid, or suddenly get dumb, just to advance the story. I thought that was gonna happen a couple of times here, but turns out that didn't quite happen. Excellent story, plenty of twists and turns, enough to keep you guessing up to the end. Also, a disturbing look at the other side of fame and celebrity. Really good listen!

Fun ride

Honestly, I was initially skeptical about this story. The premise sounded, idk, weird? Tedious? Contrived? I wasnt sure I wanted to give it a shot, but I listened to the sample, and after 2 minutes I was glad I gave it a shot. The chemistry between the two MCs was just perfect, and the story had me hooked before the sample ended. This author never disappoints! Really entertaining story!

Interesting concept...

But poor execution. Maybe it was just a thin premise that could only go so far. Not sure what could've made this story better. I understand why it ended the way it did. Unsatisfying as it was, the ending works. But there were SO many missed opportunities to fill holes, fix gaps, clear up inconsistencies, idk. Anything would've helped.

It shouldn't have worked, but it did. An interesting idea, that most couples would never agree to. But with so many layers and subplots and twists and turns and outright deception, the whole thing works.

I liked the premise of the book. Original, if just a bit implausible. I had my doubts about the MC at first, cause she did an unreasonable amount of dithering and handwringing in the first quarter or so. But I kept reading, and the actual story got better. Well paced, with enough twists, turns, surprises, and heat to make for a fun ride. Pretty sure it would top the list of secret fantasies for a lot of people, lol.

Surprisingly good!

This was an impulse listen included with the plus membership. I figured it wouldn't be a big deal if I didn't like it. But I was surprised. An interesting premise that takes a couple unexpected turns. The story/plot got a little ridiculous in a couple of spots, but the characters were quick to point it out, without breaking the 4th wall.
I would've liked to see just a little bit more from a couple of the other characters towards the end, but hey. Overall, great main characters, interesting supporting characters, and snappy, well-written dialog combine to make this a really enjoyable listen.

Solid (and a little unexpected)

So, it's gotta be tough to come up with a second book when the first was a home run. I LOVED the first book, but I had my doubts about this one. would it measure up? How is she gonna top the last one? (SPOILER ALERT- she didn't try to.)
What I like about this story is that while it's in the same universe as the first one, it's different enough that it can stand on its own, without the usual comparison to the other book in the series. Some familiar faces appear throughout, but in a way that felt like seeing old friends AND meeting new characters. If you read the first book, you won't be disappointed. If you didn't, you won't feel completely lost by starting here. Definitely worth a credit.

I picked this title up on a whim. To say I was pleasantly surprised is an understatement. To me, this novel is rare in that it has EVERYTHING- science fiction, drama, action, fantasy, plot twists, well-developed characters, and a good amount of heat. Could've used more, but I'm just being greedy. I would've liked a bit more story at the end, cause the way it was written felt like an afterthought. But again, that's me being greedy, and maybe nitpicking a bit. But really, this is going in my all time top 5 audio books.
