Historia
At a remote little inn not far from the Kansas homestead of Laura Ingalls Wilder lived the Bender family. These pioneers welcomed unwary visitors with jackrabbit stew and a sledgehammer to the skull. In time, their apple orchard gave up its secrets - a burial ground for their mutilated victims, each stripped of their possessions. The devilish enterprise on “Hell’s Half-Acre” would earn the Bloody Benders an undying place in the annals of American infamy. But it was the mysterious fate of eldest daughter, Kate, that would make them the stuff of mythic campfire prairie tales.

Spectacular

Two amazing things combined- both Harold and Steven make this novella absolutely intriguing and the urge to go down the rabbit hole of the Benders. Absolutely superb!

Historia
When Dr. Louis Creed takes a new job and moves his family to the idyllic, rural town of Ludlow, Maine, this new beginning seems too good to be true. Yet despite Ludlow's tranquility, there's an undercurrent of danger that lingers...like the graveyard in the woods near the Creeds' home, where generations of children have buried their beloved pets.

Historia
Welcome to Derry, Maine. It’s a small city, a place as hauntingly familiar as your own hometown. Only in Derry the haunting is real. They were seven teenagers when they first stumbled upon the horror. Now they are grown-up men and women who have gone out into the big world to gain success and happiness. But the promise they made 28 years ago calls them reunite in the same place where, as teenagers, they battled an evil creature that preyed on the city’s children.

A masterpiece
Revisado: 01-06-23
Steven Weber is an amazing narrator and Stephen King is an incredible storyteller. Together, these two turn the novel into an epic journey. A journey I want to listen to again and again. I’ve never experienced an audiobook like this. It was beyond perfection.

The narration took me a minute, but after about 30 minutes I was enthralled. This was my first Harold book and I’ll never look back- I’m a fan of his writing and can’t wait to listen to more of his books.

Historia
Born Joel David Katz to a wild and wooly Jewish American family in Cleveland, Ohio, in 1932, Joel Grey began his life in the theater at the age of nine, starting in children's theater and then moving to the main stage. He was hooked, and his seven-decades-long career charts the evolution of American entertainment - from Vaudeville performances with his father, Mickey Katz, to the seedy, gangster-filled nightclubs of the '40s.

Narrator is amazing
Revisado: 09-16-19
John E Douglas books are always interesting but this one focuses on 4 stories/killers that you may not have heard of. The book details John interviewing these individuals and analyzing the killer and the why for their crimes. While the subject is interesting, what makes the audiobook amazing is the narration by Jonathan Groff. His smooth relaxing voice is incredible. I highly recommend this one! I killed it (no pun intended) within a week of just driving to work and listening while I did chores. Incredible.

Historia
Until 1971, life was good for mild-mannered accountant John List. He was vice president of a Jersey City bank and had moved his mother, wife, and three teenage children into a 19-room home in Westfield, New Jersey. But all that changed when he lost his job. Raised by his Lutheran father to believe success meant being a good provider, List saw himself as an utter failure. Straining under financial burdens, the stress of hiding his unemployment, as well as the fear that the free-spirited 1970s would corrupt the souls of his children, List came to a shattering conclusion.

Incredible storytelling
Revisado: 04-21-19
This audiobook is narrated perfectly and the writing by Sharkey is thoughtful storytelling. It’s perfection. To me the best part is where Sharkey doesn’t hide his disdain for John List’s book Collateral Damage, which is an attempt of self loathing and victimizing himself. Thank you Joe!

Historia
For his victims, for their families and for the investigators tasked with finding him, the senselessness and brutality of the Golden State Killer's acts were matched only by the powerlessness they felt at failing to uncover his identity. Then, on April 24, 2018, authorities arrested 72-year-old Joseph James DeAngelo at his home in Citrus Heights, Calif., based on DNA evidence linked to the crimes. Amazingly, it seemed, evil finally had a name. Please note: This work contains descriptions of violent crime and sexual assault and may not be suitable for all listeners.
