Historia
The rumblings of war in distant countries mattered little to Danny McClain. Growing up in Chicago, his world revolved around afterschool jobs, a rescued beagle, his pen pal in Holland, and the Cubs' chance to go to the World Series. Then, in December of 1941, news of the attack on Pearl Harbor hit much too close to home. In a few years, Danny found himself in the copilot seat of a B-17, stationed with the 390th Bomb Group in Framlingham, England.

This was a great story. While it was a sweet love story, it didn’t gloss over the tragic historic backdrop. Listen to it, it’s a good one!

Relatable characters
Revisado: 04-18-25
I really liked this series. I liked that the Christian characters were real and not preachy. They talked about the Lord and quoted some Scripture, but not in a pushy way. The stories were interesting and suspenseful. I will be reading more of Candle Sutton’s books. I learned about them by a recommendation from one of my favorite authors, Jamie Lee Grey. Y’all should read her books too!!

Historia
Lucy Alexander has a hopeless case of writer's block. But all that changes when her handsome UPS guy delivers a box of vintage teacups from the estate of her namesake and beloved Aunt Lucille. Happy memories of tea parties they shared when Lucy was young flood her mind. And with them, the forgotten stories her aunt loved to tell over tea and Scottish shortbread. Colorful tales of fascinating characters woven together with the undeniable power of love. Some were true, most weren't, but it was her aunt's extraordinary gift of storytelling that first ignited Lucy's passion to write.

These were such sweet stories. Different love stories, with another love story woven throughout all the Novellas. Easy listening, not so deep that I couldn’t do other things while I listened. I really like Diane Moody’s writing. I’ll be looking for more!

I really enjoyed this!
Revisado: 03-27-25
I loved the characters, the small town feel, the lack of bad language and the Christian influence. The plots were intriguing and kept my interest throughout all three books. The narrator was really good and her Southern accents were believable and not hokey. (That’s a real turn off, fake, overdone southern accents). I will be reading more from this author!

I’m loving these!
Revisado: 02-19-25
I wasn’t quite sure how I’d like these since I learned about them on social media, but I’m really loving them. I’m on #3 now. Molly is a great character and her supporting cast is full of quirky, interesting characters. I really like the narration. It’s more than just someone reading a book but not like listening to a play, if that makes any sense. It’s perfect for these stories. I like that they are clean, with no serious foul language or graphic sex scenes. Some things are implied but not in a gratuitous way. Even though there are murders, they really aren’t the focus, they’re just the jumping off point for the stories and the focus is on solving the crime and Molly in her new surroundings. They’re easy to listen to and you don’t have to stop and focus to understand what’s going on. I’m really glad I found them and these books may just be the best thing that social media has ever done for me!

Shari Franke’s childhood was a constant battle for survival. Her mother, Ruby Franke, enforced a severe moral code while maintaining a façade of a picture-perfect family for their wildly popular YouTube channel 8 Passengers, which documented the day-to-day life of raising six children for a staggering 2.5 million subscribers. But a darker truth lurked beneath the surface—Ruby’s wholesome online persona masked a more tyrannical parenting style than anyone could have imagined.

A riveting story about overcoming
Revisado: 01-15-25
As a mother and grandmother, I spent most of my time listening being in shock at what these kids went through. Shari wrote the story beautifully and with such insight past what she was enduring, into the heart of the problem. This isn’t the type of book I would normally read, but it was very worthwhile and well done. Shari’s reading was perfect and really made the story even better.

Good story, not your typical end times fiction!
Revisado: 11-24-24
The story was good and different from what I’ve read in the past. The narration was a little wonky but not so much as to be distracting. I kind of got a kick out of hearing him say things funny “Nine hundred eleven, what’s your emergency?” That might be my favorite one. I will read the subsequent books and I like that the viewpoint is not my typical pre-trib rapture story. Gives me stuff to think about. I enjoyed this!

Such a timely story
Revisado: 10-31-24
These first three books in this series have been really good, and different from other titles in the same genre. I hated hearing our adversaries talking about my country like they did but I have to admit that they were right and it’s probably a very good representation of how they think of us. This isn’t a wild fictional story that could never happen. It’s a fictionalized account of what could very easily be in our future. I learned some historical facts that I’d never heard before and had to look them up! The narrator is excellent, too! Thank you for a thoughtful, entertaining story.

2013 or 2024?
Revisado: 10-13-24
You’d think a book written in 2013 would be outdated, but this story could have jumped out of the pages of a newspaper dated 2024. It’s a disturbing (as in it makes you think) story of the demise of America as we know it. It may not happen in exactly this scenario, but it’s coming, we all know it. The prepper info is really important and helpful and the characters are believable. It’s helped me to understand some economic principles better. It’s entertaining, sure, but its’ value goes beyond just fiction. Great read and the narrator is awesome too!

Revisado: 09-15-24
I read this when it first came out, almost 30 years ago. I just started listening to books recently and thought I’d listen to this one even though I’d already read it. The narrator really sets the tone for the story and does a phenomenal job! Such a moving story filled with eternal truths. I loved this book even more this time!
