I am now a Stephenson fan!

I put off reading Stephenson for years, and I'm so happy I've finally decided to read them. This book was fun from beginning to end. I wish I was part of the family with Uncle Enzo!

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

Would I recommend this book to a friend? I would recommend reading the beginning of the book 100%. When the time switch happens, the book killed itself in my opinion.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

How would I change the story to make it more enjoyable? I don't know what I would have done to save the ending of this book.

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

What I liked about the performance was the difference narrators. I enjoy narration by different people to voice male and female characters.

Did The Passage inspire you to do anything?

It inspired me to view vampires in a different way. They only use the word "vampires" a few times, but Cronin's take on historically accurate ways to kill / handle vampires is cool.

Any additional comments?

I loved this book until the time switch. I recommended it so much. I was calling my reading partner every other day to say how cool the book was. After the time switch, I never called him again. I was sorely disappointed in the next few books. From what I've read online, you either love this book or hate it. If you don't enjoy it after the time switch, stop reading and save yourself the time.

Absolutely love this universe.

Alastair Reynolds blew me away with this space opera, and I've read the series 3 times now. He creates entire genres of humans. Different worlds and whole new enemies and dangers. Chasm City is an amazing back story for a few planets in the universe. John Lee is the best narrator!

It's interesting to read the Ex books, because I never know who they're going to introduce. There were a few random flashbacks, but I enjoyed the story.

The second installment had a good twist and plot. I'm still not convinced this was an ideal narrator, but I still enjoyed it.

It had twists, and I enjoyed the solutions. I enjoy Will Wheaton. I think a 2.5hr bonus was added to make the book seem longer than it was, but I did appreciate a little backend to the story. Good read.
