Historia
Shane Black is trapped in New York, and vicious protesters are burning the city to the ground. He has no gun, no way out, and he’s 1,000 miles from home. America’s financial doomsday. A wayward son. The epic struggle to survive. Country music icon Shane Black is this year’s headliner for the New Year’s Eve bash in Times Square, but when violent riots break out, he’ll need more than a six string to escape the maelstrom. After decades of abuse as the world’s reserve currency, the US dollar’s day of reckoning is at hand.

well written
Revisado: 11-12-20
As always Kevin Pierce did an excellent job. There were some negative reviews talking about the religious aspect of the book and the political right. I guess I would say that there are biblical references in this book but in no way is it a sermon. The lead character, along with some of his friends and family are portrayed as church going Americans but there are other "good guy" characters that are not. There are some biblical quotes at the beginning of some chapters, along with quotes from other people in history that are not biblical. As far as the "right wing propaganda" reviews go, the story does a great job of placing blame at the feet of all of the politicians regardless of party. If you are a ultra sensitive anti-Christian where the very mention of the Bible makes you shrink into your 'safe space' like a vampire right before sunrise, then this book probably isn't for you. But if you want to read/listen to a very well written post-apocalyptic fiction book that flows well with a lot of twist and turns, this would be well worth your credit. I would put this right up with One Second/Year After and the Going Home series. The character development was phenomenal.

One Year After returns to the small town of Black Mountain and the man who struggled to rebuild it in the wake of devastation: John Matherson. It is a thrilling follow-up and should delight fans in every way.

excellent
Revisado: 03-13-20
Forstchen does a great job with the second book in this series. I've read a lot of SHTF books and this series is done a little different than most. It is focused a lot on the people as a whole more than the individual gathering food and supplies.

The story flows well. I have read the Going Home Series by A American and I have to say this book is just as good, if not better.

Historia
When society ceases to exist, who can you trust? After the collapse of the nation's power grid, America is under martial law - and safety is an illusion. As violence erupts around him, Morgan Carter faces one of his most difficult decisions yet: whether to stay and defend his home, or move to a more isolated area, away from the prying eyes of the government. He and his family are hesitant to leave their beloved Lake County, but with increasingly suspicious activities happening in a nearby refugee camp, all signs point towards defecting.

Great storyline
Revisado: 02-13-20
Duke Fontaine has a remarkable voice. He does a great job depicting different characters. I believe he could read a dictionary and still keep the audience interested. As far as the story goes, this one was too short. The other books in this series closed out nice. This one, although an excellent story, seems to rush to the end, leaving the readers with more questions than answers.
