Historia
Few of us have lived through the kind of suffering Teal Swan endured: 13 years of ritual abuse at the hands of a cult. But all of us have been fractured by trauma in one way or another. Your wounds may be visible as bodily scars; or they may show up in the form of anxiety, depression, or PTSD; or you may simply be struggling in your life for reasons you don’t simply understand. The good news is that you can heal your wounds.

Good book but buy this book in print if you must. Narrator confuses logical stresses in many sentences as if he is a six year old just learning to read. Very hard to listen.

Acuff knows the reason why many writers' novels go unfinished - it's the same reason why gyms are filled in the first week of January and empty by the end of the month and why people stop learning a new language once they get past the easy parts. It's not just that people lose momentum or get distracted. People give up on projects when they fail to live up to their own high expectations and decide that if they can't do something perfectly, they won't do it at all. If you're going to finish, you have to kill perfectionism.

Covers lots of valid ideas. The text is precise, to the point, includes good but not excessive number of real life examples to illustrate concepts. Presentation is also great.

Historia
Many of us know the Black Death as a catastrophic event of the medieval world. But the Black Death was arguably the most significant event in Western history, profoundly affecting every aspect of human life, from the economic and social to the political, religious, and cultural. In its wake the plague left a world that was utterly changed, forever altering the traditional structure of European societies and forcing a rethinking of every single system of Western civilization: food production and trade, the church, political institutions, law, art, and more.

Recommend for all Plague Enthusiasts
Revisado: 12-04-20
The book provides insights into the non-scientific aspects of the Black Death. It talks about social, economic, cultural, behavioral responses of the humanity to the apocalypses-like situation in the XIV Century. The author is very clearly interested in the subject , and it makes the book not only informative but also gives it a little bit of something extra - a soul and personality. Highly Recommend.

On The Power of Vulnerability, Dr. Brown offers an invitation and a promise - that when we dare to drop the armor that protects us from feeling vulnerable, we open ourselves to the experiences that bring purpose and meaning to our lives. Here she dispels the cultural myth that vulnerability is weakness and reveals that it is, in truth, our most accurate measure of courage.

Good story and the superb narration.
Revisado: 11-07-20
The book itself is great - its interesting and in some cases surprises you greatly. What stands out about this audiobook for me is the narration. The narrator is so great and her acting style is so pleasant and enjoyable that I feel like I will re-listen this book based just on this merit alone. And to reiterate - the story is great too - very expertly paced, with easy-to-follow but captivating plot and skillfully shaped characters. Highly recommend.

Disappointing
Revisado: 06-29-20
Can't say this book is interesting or even atmospheric. Lighthouses and cosy mysteries - what's not to love? Put together, this could have resulted in a great experience. However, this mystery is not cosy at all. And the lighthouse is only mentioned a few times, plays no role in the story and provides no ambience whatsoever. The beautiful cover of the book turns out to be the best of it.
