Historia
In The Madness of Crowds Douglas Murray investigates the dangers of ‘woke’ culture and the rise of identity politics. In lively, razor-sharp prose he examines the most controversial issues of our moment: sexuality, gender, technology and race, with interludes on the Marxist foundations of ‘wokeness’, the impact of tech and how, in an increasingly online culture, we must relearn the ability to forgive.

Compelling insights make me weep and commit!
Revisado: 10-14-22
This book is a challenging read, but it is worth every minute. Wake up! The hard-left's agendas (identity politics, etc.) are NOT benign. They intend to tear apart America, so it can become "Marxist Socialist Progressive". Turmoil is the brew that tempts us to yield to their narratives just to get some peace. Don't do it. This is a conflict of world views, and there almost zero common ground. Read and weep. Read and get to work!

Michael Knowles was the perfect reader for his own book. His words are engaging as they clearly convey the history that delivered the present-day cultural conflicts. I pray that America will see clearly, battle wisely, and win the day.

Ian Fleming's prose is much more than it needs to be. Tender. Gripping. Transporting. And, Martin Jarvis brings it all to life with consummate skill. Wow! Must listen to another.

Historia
Fox News legal analyst Gregg Jarrett reveals the real story behind Hillary Clinton’s deep state collaborators in government and exposes their nefarious actions during and after the 2016 election. This audiobook reveals how persons within the FBI and Barack Obama’s Justice Department worked improperly to help elect Hillary Clinton and defeat Donald Trump in the 2016 presidential election. When this suspected effort failed, those same people appear to have pursued a contrived investigation of President Trump in an attempt to undo the election results and remove him as president.

Tempting to wish Mr. Jarrett had omitted extensive citations of legal chapters & verses, but it became clear that these ROOTS anchor the narrative in factual reality. This is needed because a hurricane of baseless falsehoods in the media would cause readers to dismiss Mr. Jarrett's as weak or as partisan, though he is far from a fan-boy for President Trump.

BBC Radio multi-touch drama. Interesting presentation, but hokey sound effects (think original Star Trek). Some narrative would have helped in spots to carry the flow, but 7-plus hours were very enjoyable.

Pretty good yarn, but the female lead is tiresome
Revisado: 11-14-12
Would you listen to Mount Dragon again? Why?
I would listen to this book again. It is entertaining, interesting, and creepy.
Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?
The plot kept me engaged --that is all except the female character De Vaca. She was a moron, and tiresome.
Which character – as performed by David Colacci – was your favorite?
Guy.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I absolutely hated De Vaca. She was tiresome, stupid, and dangerous. I don't care if she was supposed to be attractive, her character was not.
Any additional comments?
I found it unrealistic that the scientists would expect to leave quarantine if they were exposed to a virus. They are supposed to work with the most dangerous infections in the world, they would know it would be the height of irresponsibility to have someone leave quarantine. They should have had a better sense of responsibility than their reactions. De Vaca in particular was impulsive and irresponsible. She is the only negative in this very good book.

Can't get past the narrator
Revisado: 10-23-12
What would have made Die in Plain Sight better?
A different narrator. Make it unabridged. The book is much better than the abridged audio edition.
What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?
I loved the information and discussion concerning painting and art. Lacey's parents.
What didn’t you like about Maria Tucci’s performance?
It really bothers me when performers don't bother to learn how Californians pronounce place names. She mispronounced San Jacinto and tule fog --a Californian wouldn't have done that. Also her voice is a gravely smoker's voice that was terribly distracting. Her voice detracted from the experience of listening to the story.
What character would you cut from Die in Plain Sight?
None
Any additional comments?
I've read this book several times and enjoyed it. The audio version was a disappointment.
