Great Advice; Lacks Perspective
Revisado: 10-09-21
This was a great book to listen to. The narrator was enthusiastic and
motivating. The authors perspective is obviously limited and the advice is definitely geared toward one who works in the self-improvement industry.
I would recommend this book to anyone wanting to be inspired to learn, grow and achieve more, but just keep in mind that this is one person's perspective on the challenges they have faced. Maybe 30 minutes in a self help book isn't what you need, but setting aside for your goals and to better your skill set is always good.
The advice will work for anyone as long as you digest the core fundamentals of each chapter.

Great Experience for Rock Fans
Revisado: 12-08-19
Overall an amazing audiobook that was chalk full of outrageous debauchery and hilarious references to Elton's experiences with other rock icons such as Freddie Mercury, Rod Stewart, and many others.
The book never left me feeling bored and I was always engaged with what was being read. Taron's voice is great for this book as his impressions are as impressive as they are hilarious.
This was everything I had ever hoped for in an Elton John autobiography and whether you're a die hard Elton John fan or just a fan of autobiographical audiobooks I would recommend this book all day.

Historia
Human beings are primates, and primates are political animals. Our brains, therefore, are designed not just to hunt and gather but also to help us get ahead socially, often via deception and self-deception. But while we may be self-interested schemers, we benefit by pretending otherwise. The less we know about our own ugly motives, the better - and thus, we don't like to talk, or even think, about the extent of our selfishness. This is "the elephant in the brain".

Great information
Revisado: 03-13-19
The information in this book was great. The reader was fairly drab and dry and it took some effort to finish.
Very compelling perspective. Useful for any human that may spend time around other humans.

Historia
In 2009, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band performed at the Super Bowl's halftime show. The experience was so exhilarating that Bruce decided to write about it. That's how this extraordinary autobiography began. Over the past seven years, Bruce Springsteen has privately devoted himself to writing the story of his life, bringing to this audio the same honesty, humor, and originality found in his songs.

Loved it. Great book. Finished in less than a week. What a great storyteller with an amazing story to tell. Do yourself the favor and listen to this book.
This book is especially good for musicians to listen to and learn from someone grounded in hard work and experience in the major music industry. Awesome perspective.

Historia
Here, the FUBU founder and star of ABC's Shark Tank shows that, far from being a liability, broke can actually be your greatest competitive advantage as an entrepreneur. Why? Because starting a business from broke forces you to think more creatively. It forces you to use your resources more efficiently. It forces you to connect with your customers more authentically and market your ideas more imaginatively.

Historia
When attending Georgetown University, in DC, I enrolled in a basic psychology course to get an A, as many of us did, to raise our grade point average. Halfway through the course, our professor spent an hour on "Automatic-Writing". This book will explain the consequences of such action. It'll be short and sweet, right to the point. It's an extraordinary story, enjoy the experience, and benefit from it.

Short and to the point, but well done.
Revisado: 09-11-16
One of the main reasons that I bought the book is because there were no other reviews writtwn about it. Only one other rating as well.
The book seemed interesting to me for a long time, but I never went through with the purchase. I finally bought the book and listened to it in a single sitting. The book was well written and the story was interesting.
The story wasn't exactly what I was expecting, which is actually probably a good thing. It is, according to the author, an account of the actual events that took place during his life. He takes the reader through his early life, his marriage, the walk-in, and then the events that occur after the walk-in.
The book uses some terminology that I was not familiar with, such as:
"Walk-In" - An entity that takes over a body when the current soul is ready to leave, but chooses to do so without suicide. A sort of "recycling" of a body.
"Automatic Writing" - Commonly interpreted as an individual that channels a spirit or entity and allows the entity use of their hand for writing answers to questions asked by a third party.
It's an interesting read/listen and I would recommend it if this sort of thing peaks your interest. Keep in mind that it is short, so if your looking for an hours long epic, this isn't it.
It is an interesting account of events and will get you thinking.
