Historia
In the last decade, no industry has been through as much upheaval and turmoil as the music industry. If you're looking for quick fame and instant success, you're in the wrong field. It's now a democratic DIY business, and any guide to success in these new waters must be told by someone who's already survived them.

Phenomenal!
Revisado: 11-17-17
A must needed book for ALL indie artists, regardless of genre. This book WILL save you valuable time, energy, and MONEY. Ari Herstand points out ALL of the pitfalls in TODAY'S music industry, as well as breaks down where shortcuts can be taken, and where they simply CANNOT. He also gives the names of ACTUAL people, businesses, organizations, and locations that you NEED to be associated with, in order to take your career to the next level. But what I have found to be the most helpful, after reading this book twice, is that with all of the different information that Ari gives, you now get to see that there are MANY forms of success, not just performing on a stage at a major award show, and winning a major award. The advice in this book (for indie, and rising, artists) is simply indispensable. This just may be your most valuable investment.

Historia
At least one-third of the people we know are introverts. They are the ones who prefer listening to speaking; who innovate and create but dislike self-promotion; who favor working on their own over working in teams. It is to introverts—Rosa Parks, Chopin, Dr. Seuss, Steve Wozniak—that we owe many of the great contributions to society.

Mind-opening, and mind-blowing
Revisado: 11-17-17
This book blew my mind in more ways than I can explain in this review. I am an introvert (Have always been, and always will be), and I have always been made to feel that something was wrong with me (by family, classmates, and associates) but whenever I would speak with a therapist, or psychologist (off of the request, from the people that I listed above), they would ALWAYS say that there was "nothing wrong with me" and that I was normal (And this would always leave me feeling emotionally and psychologically stuck, not knowing who I should listen to). But none of those medical professionals ever broke down why I was normal, the way that Susan Cain has in this book "Quiet." This is one of the few book that have made me feel more confident, and better about myself (at my core), that is backed up with research, and hard evidence, that explains all of the GREAT things about being an introvert (I felt like Susan Cain was talking directly to me, while reading. I had to stop reading, pause, and step away from the book quite a few times, because I felt that she knew me personally, like she was reading my deepest feelings about myself - It was SURREAL)... If you are are quit, an introvert, or just like to keep to yourself (but feel that your self-confidence has taken a hit because of it) then you need to read this. This can AND WILL help you in many ways, ways that maybe even a therapist or psychologist could not have explained. This book is a great investment, and worth "every penny."

Historia
Her name was Henrietta Lacks, but scientists know her as HeLa. She was a poor Southern tobacco farmer who worked the same land as her slave ancestors, yet her cells - taken without her knowledge - became one of the most important tools in medicine: The first “immortal” human cells grown in culture, which are still alive today, though she has been dead for more than 60 years. HeLa cells were vital for developing the polio vaccine; uncovered secrets of cancer, viruses, and the atom bomb’s effects.

Caught me off guard (In a VERY positive way)
Revisado: 07-08-17
The way/flow that the book was written in, delivers to the reader, a book, not just about the history of a cellular body, and how that cellular body impacted the history of science, but the history of the person that cellular body came from, its unrestricted use, and how it impacted the history of that person's family - That person of course, being one "Henrietta Lacks." The book speaks with a voice that's coming from an intelligent, and empathetic spirit, and not just an intelligent and empathetic mind. Worth every penny that I paid for this book (and after reading it, I realize it's worth A WHOLE LOT MORE).

EXTREMELY INSPIRING
Revisado: 11-11-14
This book was written with "A LOT OF HEART" (and a lot of courage). It was hard to just listen to the book, and not visualize and feel what she was saying. The way she go's in-depth, at every level of her life, really makes you feel that you are right next to her experiencing her life with her... She made sure that you felt her pain, but did not pity her. That you saw her scars and misfortunes "clearly," yet still respected her. "THIS IS AN AMAZING WOMAN."

Historia
Little more than 100 years ago, maps of the world still boasted white space: places where no human had ever trod. Within a few short decades the most hostile of the world's environments had all been conquered. Likewise, in the 20th century, medicine transformed human life. Doctors took what was routinely fatal and made it survivable. As modernity brought us ever more into different kinds of extremes, doctors pushed the bounds of medical advances and human endurance. Extreme exploration challenged the body in ways that only the vanguard of science could answer.

Awakening of intelligence - Medically speaking.
Revisado: 10-07-14
This book awoke in me, "A HUNGER" to learn more about the medical field (and I don't have any interest of becoming a doctor, or some type of physician). It opened my eyes to quite a few medical questions that I had, and also filled in quite a few gaps that were missing in my little knowledge, that I had about medical information that I had learned over the years. "Overall," if you want a book that will "open your mind" to some of the great mysteries of the medical field - "THIS IS IT."

"Intellectually (and Financially) EYE OPENING"
Revisado: 09-17-14
Reading this book, has been like learning a foreign language that I "always wanted to know, but never took the time to learn." For a New Entrepreneur such as myself, the information in this book, I feel, has saved me "A LOT" of money from future business decisions that "I KNOW" I will have to make, but am now "better equipped" to do so.
What I like most about the book, is how the information is delivered in story fashion, and not like some textbook, telling you what you should, or should not do - VERY EASY TO FOLLOW.... A MUST HAVE "FOR ALL" ENTREPRENEURS.

Why are women more verbal than men? Why do women remember details of fights that men can't remember at all? Why do women tend to form deeper bonds with their female friends than men do with their male counterparts? These and other questions have stumped both sexes throughout the ages. Now, pioneering neuropsychiatrist Louann Brizendine, M.D., brings together the latest findings to show how the unique structure of the female brain determines how women think and what they value.
