Historia
Who is Audrey Hoedemaker? It's a question her sister Maureen has heard more times than she can count, and she doesn't know what the short answer would be. Little sister, troubled teen, backpacker, musical theatre coach, con artist, childcare worker. Murderer. A tragic, traumatic childhood casts a long shadow on the Hoedemaker sisters. Maureen has worked hard to move beyond the violence of the past and build a good, honest life for herself. Audrey, however, just can't seem to do the same, careening from one state of chaos to another.

Engrossing
Revisado: 02-06-25
Interesting story, very engrossing. You can really get caught up in the messy childhood they grew up with and mayham that Audrey trailed behind her.
The ending certainly caught me off guard
performance was well done

It was supposed to be a banner day for Alyssa’s gourmet pet food business—until the magic hit the fan. Just as Alyssa is about to launch her premium line of pet snacks, a magical tremor rocks Largo Island, uncovering long-buried secrets—and a dead body. Worse, the cops seem more interested in pointing fingers than finding answers, and Alyssa’s bank account is hanging on by a paw-shaped thread. Too much but not enough
Revisado: 01-27-25
I'm not even going to comment on the AI narration.
Seems as if the author couldn't decide what they wanted to write, nor did they take the time to do research. According to this story the islands in Lake Michigan were created by Aliens, the "clans" who live on the islands gave been feuding for generations?, & its cheaper to ship supplies & staff back & forth from an island then to rent/buy property on the mainland.
The author couldn't decide if they wanted to write a mystery, a SciFi novel, a paranormal tale, or a story about animals or dancing.
There were alot of characters thrown in but they were mostly one dimensional.
Possibly written using AI?
Could have been a good concept if they'd done more research & had a more focused plot.

I have exactly 5 hours and 10 minutes to get from Boston to New York City or the professional opportunity of a lifetime disappears. My only travel option? The second to last seat on a discount bus. Across from the bathroom. Wearing last night’s clothes (don’t ask). All worth it if I can make it in time.

surprisingly fun

This was surprisingly fun. I loved all of the little detail.
This isn't usually the sort of story I go for but I greatly enjoyed it. I don't think it'd have been nearly as good as anything other then an audio book.

It's episode 310 and despite the movie-magic of our recording schedule we actually haven't recorded in a month! Tune in as we catch up on anxiety and nose piercings as well as all things creepy. First Em covers the wild history of the Banshee, who uses she/her pronouns, thank you for normalizing pronouns, Banshee. Then Christine breaks down Stockholm Syndrome for us and brings us part one of the case the term originated from. And get Ireland on the horn, because we've got some questions about spelling (and maybe grapes and cereal as well)... and that's why we drink! We can't wait to see you ...

Fantastic Story
Revisado: 09-14-22
The Thursday Murder Club was a fantastic story. So good that the only reason I rated the audio book 4 stars is because the story is so intricate that I felt that a physical book was almost necessary to keep track of details easier. There are so many twists & turns that'd you'd never be able to guess the solution on your own.

Intriguing story
Revisado: 08-29-22
This was an amazing book to read/listen to. The story was intriguing & you didn't know what was going to happen next.
I rated the performance a 4 because there were a few areas where it sounded like it wasn't spliced together correctly or like the narrators stumbled. The narration was otherwise pretty well done.

I greatly enjoyed that Zoey seemed to be more the main character.
The mystery was well done & there was even a red hering that threw me off. Great story.
Wasn't expecting mentions of the UP (aka the 906) & our local specialities at the end, yay Yooper Pride.
