I wanted to quit multiple times during the first story but sadly the first hasn't finished and I'm going to call it quits. The FMC is super annoying, I'm surprised more than the killer didn't want to end her.

These read more like books I would have read in elementary school from the library.

Sorry they're just not for me.

Not sure if this is a good story or not. Unfortunately the narrator ruins it for me, her voice inflections just really make the heroine annoy me.

The storyline seems pretty solid but again the narrator kept pulling me out of truly immersing myself into the storyline.

I received the E book for free through Amazon and the audible was only $1.99. I wish I would have listened to the sample before I even spent the $2 since audible doesnt want us returning books.

I'm going to try and read the story to see if it's any better when I'm the one deciding how they "talk". It seems almost all the reviews think this is a great story so heres hoping reading it will live up to the hype.

Oh look, someone amazed at the consequences of their actions 😱

Another person unwilling to admit they did something wrong (Jessa), same person (Jessa) blaming someone else (Seth) and wanting to hold him accountable for the exact same mistakes they made.

Jessa says I was a druggie and used Seth for those drugs and bad things happened but you need to forgive me for being a druggie. But Seth was ALSO a druggie but nope we cant forgive him and Jessa wants to sweep all her sins under the rug while condemning Seth for his. Make it make sense!!!!!!

While I have listened to this book multiple times and read it a few my feelings never change. She is emotionally stunted and she is a massive manipulator. I'm so glad Seth is vindicated in his book. Sadly it's because Tessa the queen bee ALLOWS it. If I could throw her away I would, she is a disappointing character and exhibits those most undesirable qualities and traits that makes me glad of her suffering and wished Brody had found someone worthy of his affection.

The FMC is atrocious. This character just proved how weak and pathetic they are. Shes also pushy and manipulative. I am so upset that audible wont let you return books now. Isnt worth the money/credit. Well unless you're 12

Cara is DEF only side character material. Why do authors always stick at least one horrid chick with these loving caring guys that deserve soooooooo much better? I already feel sorry for the unborn child. Shes either going to completely damage this child and raise it to be exactly like her or ruin it by being an unemotionally absentee parent. I'm sorry Logan you deserve soooooo much better.

Shes a shrew. How could anyone want a relationship or a marriage where emotions are in a constant heightened state? She isnt calm or rational. Shes emotionally exhausting. I feel sorry for her kid and Logan. Having to constantly tip toe around her for fear of her exploding emotionally. High maintenance chicks are the absolute WORST. No one male/female deserves to be in an emotional warzone if their partner doesnt get their way. I hate characters like that. Cara is a side character at best. She never should have gotten a book. Shes way too volatile.

Even Cara said she doesn't deserve Logan, and when I heard her say that, I absolutely agreed. You dont.

So I'm not going to give a standard review I'm going to post my thoughts as they came to me while listening to this book.

She took off her socks and shoes to go ice skating with the borrowed H's sister skates. So gross. Again, she took off her SOCKS and shoes. 🤢
1. They aren't your skates
2. They aren't your skates
3. How do you think the sisters going to feel about your nasty feet if she finds out

H takes off h pants and SURPRISE no underwear. When he comments she says she doesnt wear them, they're too tight but when he first meets her and they're night swimming shes wearing a bra AND underwear.
(Is she a twin that was separated at birth? Since she doesn't remember having sex with him? This is my feeling at the time when they have sex for the "¿second time?")

And also what's up with Cree and his tying her up, safe word, spanking and "threatening" to spank her if she "doesnt listen" nowhere in the whole book leading up to this does this personality trait ever manifest itself. And they didn't even have sex again until after the 50% mark. He wasn't all dominating in the prologue so we had half a book of mild mannered easy going Cree.

I really feel like this book Micalea tried too hard. It's ok for a guy to be a nice guy, a good guy, to not be all into the kink. Every time Micalea has him flying his kinkflag it felt fake and forced. It didnt come natural to the personality that she had established for Cree. Hes wanting to handcuff her, GAG her, like WTF and all the while hes reading Percy Jackson books in his off time. Not that one cant do both but not once in his personality do we even get a hint that he has dom tendencies. He isnt a manly man, he isnt an alpha. I mean Jude punches him once, ONCE and its lights out. So yeah. Hes no alpha.

Micalea uses almost exact scenes I've read in other books. ie. Read out loud this erotica book while I go down town on you, stop reading and I stop.... except it was done by a much more dominant man and totally fit the personality type the other author had created. With Cree I just chuckle and roll my eyes. Just SO unbelievable. Oh then there was when hes slaps the inside of her thigh and says, what did I tell you. Puuuulease 🙄

Micalea is now wrapping up the book. But it is sooooo obvious that she is tying up all the loose ends that it just becomes ridiculous. It just seems like a make believe ending all fantastical. Everything all prettily tied up in a bow.

I also think the female narrator kinda ruined the character for me. I havent liked her in other books shes narrated so its not just this book that's making me feel this way.

Now, I was so excited knowing Judes book was coming but now that I know hes getting stuck with Cree's sister I'm waaaaay less excited. Actually I feel sad about that pairing. Again maybe it was this narrator but I actively hated the sister. She takes over a bathroom that isn't hers, leaves razors all over so that the person's whose bathroom IT IS cuts his foot and she does baby voice mocking him. She leaves her hair in the tub and SHE gets mad because someone, again the one who the bathroom belongs to doesnt like it. Are you kidding me B🐕itch. She flings sauce on Jude he does it back and SHE gets pissed? She's a freaking little peon. I could go on and on. But she is an entitled, self righteous, whiny, screechy, nosy shrew and so many other things. Yeah I dont like her.

I think Micalea should have stopped at Teddy. I enjoyed the little glimpse of Teddy but it didnt feeeeel like Teddy. I would have liked getting the Intel that his mom actually divorced his dad.

Anyway. This wasnt the worst book. I actually finished it. There have been books I havent. I'd say this was a 2.5 ⭐ book. Would I ever just pull this book and listen to it on it's own, absolutely not. Would I just Coles or just Teddy's, absofreakinlutely and I have! Would I listen to this as part of the whole series? 🤷🏻‍♀️ so there it is. Its not the worst. That's the best I can say.

As a woman there were soooooooo many things to be offended by. If I hadn't listened to the other books I would have absolutely sworn this author hated men. She makes them sound completely stupid as if they're all hairy knuckle dragging morons. I dont know why authors are so blatant in their disregard, disrespect, and dumbing down of men.

Honestly this family isn't even one I would want to be a part of. Sawyer has been consistently hilarious until Endure, it was like a completely different character and in this book, yeah not even the same. I only liked Laney in the first book Emerge and hated her in every book after. That whole crap of her with a bat and having to know Disney crap and music crap? I hate Disney personally and shouldn't have to pretend to to get a pass with her.

It's just amazing the hypocrisy that authors put into books which completely contradict the characters actions. Since every single one of them were bumping uglies with the hoops that are expected here.

I'm so glad this was free to listen to because I just rushed out and purchased the ebook so I'm glad I didn't read this as a book because I'm requesting a refund for it. After hearing it I don't even want to own it.

I dont know if people dont "get" it but clearly the FMC is on a spectrum, not sure which spectrum but she is. I have a son with asperger's and I see a lot of similarities in the way they are with their people skills. She doesn't get social cues, honest to a fault, talks about hidden codes. Yeah people shes on a spectrum. Man I wonder how judgmental all these listeners are in real life?

One commenter was like he proposed during sex or whatever they said as if it was a ONS. They knew each other FOR YEARS, he'd been in love with her FOR YEARS. Oh my gosh the stupidity of all these negative reviews.

This was a quick listen and I loved how they found their HEA. The only part that made me sad was the FMCs sister almost ruined two lives. I realize she was looking out for her sister and judging the situation from her own bitter disappointments and making her doubt her feelings. I'm glad the FMC finally just said enough and went to see him. Sweet ending. Wish there'd been an epilogue since this was so short to get a glimpse of their HEA.

When authors hate men...

Authors have turned me into such a heroin hater. It's because the mass majority of author's emasculate the heroes. The heroines wear the pants in the relationship, the heroines are never wrong and the man is expected to grovel and not be a man when in fact the heroine is just as guilty, but let's over look that fact for girl power and all that 💩

Maybe I should almost exclusively read chick lit by male authors. They are MUCH more balanced and realistic and dont take their hatred of men out in their books.

Sarah was such a whiney 🐕 and yes Jared had avoidance issues but man I sure got tired of listening to Sarah. Sadly I think that has a lot to do with Savannah Peachwood and the way she talks. Its soooooo condescending I think she ruined another book I had tried to listen to first without reading, and that was from one of my favorite authors that I've NEVER had issues with. James McAdams was fine as Jared but Monica Murphy hardly gave his character any book time. Which is a shame. Since we arent allowed in his head and only the whiney female I'm gonna take his side. This was super painful to listen to and I now regret purchasing all 6 ebooks. Luckily the first 2 audible books were free so I didn't waste money. I'm not sure if I'll read the rest of the series or not. It's just money wasted at this point. But at least I won't have to listen to female narrators who ruin any enjoyment I would have received if I voiced them myself.

Wow, Lailah has flipped that switch for me. I didnt think she could make me so disgusted that I would hate her, but wow the author made it so. Lailah makes decisions that dont just affect her and she just runs away from her situation. Poor Jude. There isnt any excuse for her actions. I'm sure all the #^$%&< women out there would disagree with me. I just cant wrap my head around women like this.

The story was going great but of course the drama has to set in. Honestly nothing can save this story for me. Once I hate a h I never really like them again. I know these authors think they're writing women worth emulating but all it does is make me feel for the H that they get stuck with less than they deserve. If you love someone you stay, you talk it out, you LISTEN, talk with professionals if you need to. This is where the immaturity of Lailah comes into play. She doesnt really know how to be an adult because she doesnt know how to be normal since she isnt normal. She missed out on all the social clues that she would have gained by not being so sheltered. I realize it's not her fault initially, but at some point it is. What was the point in the classes she took before she got married? I mean dang its only been a month and shes already walked out. And when everything works out because yeah we already know it will, but Jude needs to see a lawyer and make provisions for when she pulls this crap again. Shes already proved shes a runner, she has already set a precedent in their marriage for how she deals with these situations. If she wants to leave, byyyyyee but you go alone. He should make sure of that.

I'm halfway through this and I'll finish it because I listen while I work but I wont be buying this. The narrators did a good job but now Lailahs voice will do nothing but grate on my nerves.
