Decent narration, decent story, not the Hunger Games but was really trying to be the Hunger Games…. Very predictable and lots of repetitive dialogue.

Lots of action
Revisado: 10-02-23
The narration was very good and she kept my attention. The story was great, the author was fanciful in the plot, but it held together and has a nice ending. I can’t wait to listen to the next book!

Historia
New York, 2061: The place called the Pleasure Academy is a living nightmare where abducted girls are trapped, trained for a life of abject service while their souls are slowly but surely destroyed. Dorian, a thirteen-year-old runaway who’d been imprisoned there, might never have made it out if not for her fellow inmate Mina, who’d hatched the escape plan. Mina was the more daring of the two—but they’d been equally desperate.

What a waste of a credit!
Revisado: 12-09-22
I’m not sure where to begin? First of all, I am a police detective that specializes in child sex abuse cases. That being said, maybe my expectations were a bit to high. I understand this is a work of fiction, but the amount of garbage in this 13 hour listen is staggering. Was this book really on a best seller list? It needs to be condensed. You only need to explain the detective’s theory one time, instead, each chapter builds on the brilliant deductions made by Eve Dallas that there are children being taken and forced to submit to training and sexual grooming by a criminal organization. OK, move on from this and finish your story in 4 hours instead of 13. Ridiculous plot, ridiculous protagonist, utter nonsense. Finally, if you are going to make this about victims of sex trafficking, at least do the victims the courtesy of exploring the incredible trauma they’ve endured. Leave Eve Dallas’ sex life and foul mouth out of it. Can I get my credit back and is there a way I can get 13 hours of my life back?

Historia
In one of the most compelling combat narratives ever written, Staff Sergeant David Bellavia, an Army infantry platoon leader in Iraq, gives a teeth-rattling, first-hand account of 11 straight days of heavy house-to-house fighting during the climactic second battle of Fallujah. His actions in the firefight, which included killing five insurgents in hand-to-hand combat, earned Bellavia the Bronze Star, the Silver Star, and New York state's highest military honor, the Conspicuous Service Cross.

House to House was a great listen!
Revisado: 11-29-22
The author gives you a first hand account of the intense fighting he endured. It touches on the camaraderie felt in combat and the intense pain of losing teammates in battle. It is very realistic and hard to imagine. The hand to hand account he described is brutal and hard to imagine. Thanks to everyone who fought in every battle to keep us free in the USA!

Historia
Jack Diller is just one more struggling actor on the road to nowhere. He’s got an agent who barely remembers his name, his ex-girlfriend has hooked up with a Silicon Valley dude, and the milk in his fridge is so far past its sell-by date it’s historic. The only way Jack can scrape together a bare existence is by delivering food to exactly the types of successful people he wishes he could be. Then, one day, a very strange audiobook shows up on his phone.

Historia
Charlie Reade looks like a regular high school kid, great at baseball and football, a decent student. But he carries a heavy load. His mom was killed in a horrific accident when he was seven, and grief drove his dad to drink. Charlie learned how to take care of himself—and his dad. When Charlie is seventeen, he meets a dog named Radar and her aging master, Howard Bowditch, a recluse in a big house at the top of a big hill, with a locked shed in the backyard. Sometimes strange sounds emerge from that shed.

—-Spoiler alert—-
I’m pretty sure Mr.King has a shed in his backyard. The shed has a well inside with a staircase leading to another world. In this world there is an enchanted castle with a library of unpublished books that he can peruse at his leisure. He can always find just the right book to bring back to this world to keep his readers satisfied. I hope he takes a spin on the sundial so he can keep us all entertained for eternity!
Nice job with this novel, you never disappoint!

Historia
Since his wife died, Ralph Roberts has been having trouble sleeping. Each night he wakes up a bit earlier until he's barely sleeping at all. During his late-night walks, he observes some strange things going on in Derry, Maine. He sees colored ribbons streaming from people's heads, two strange little men wandering around town after dark, and more. He begins to suspect that these visions are something more than hallucinations brought on by lack of sleep.

Turn Off The Music!
Revisado: 03-02-22
I don't know why, but I read the reviews and did not believe the music could hurt a Stephan King novel. It ruined the entire book. Please remove the music. You can't even hear the story over the annoying electric guitar screeching, it was awful!
