One of the better books I’ve read on the topic. Lots of great advice in terms of how to as well as confronting the why behind why we accumulate clutter in the first place.

Historia
If we could turn back the clock psychologically, could we also turn it back physically? For more than 30 years, award-winning social psychologist Ellen Langer has studied this provocative question, and now has a conclusive answer: opening our minds to what's possible, instead of clinging to accepted notions about what's not, can lead to better health at any age.

Historia
Somewhere out beyond the edge of the universe there is a library that contains an infinite number of books, each one the story of another reality. One tells the story of your life as it is, along with another book for the other life you could have lived if you had made a different choice at any point in your life. While we all wonder how our lives might have been, what if you had the chance to go to the library and see for yourself? Would any of these other lives truly be better? In The Midnight Library, Nora Seed finds herself faced with this decision.

Historia
Meredith and Nina Whitson are as different as sisters can be. One stayed at home to raise her children and manage the family apple orchard; the other followed a dream and traveled the world to become a famous photojournalist. But when their beloved father falls ill, Meredith and Nina find themselves together again, standing alongside their cold, disapproving mother, Anya, who even now, offers no comfort to her daughters.

Wish I had read this one
Revisado: 01-06-20
This is my fourth book by the author. While none have compared to the wonderful first (The Nightingale), this was better, more layered, than the other two (The Great Alone-not bad) and Firefly Girls- can’t recommend). What I had really had trouble with was the narration. As others have mentioned, it often felt like it was being performed for children, overacted/poorly acted. The accents were often grating as were the two daughters. I think I would have enjoyed it much better had I read it.

Fabulous start and then...
Revisado: 01-11-19
I loved the way this story began. I enjoyed the narration. Then came the twist. That was the beginning of the end for me and I listened more to finish the book rather than enjoy it. I found the main character became less sympathetic and the narrator started to grate on me, less so at the very end, but never regained its initial appeal.
