I hate virtual voice !! It’s not worth the cheapness of the books. I’ve tried a few and can’t really justify it anymore.

Historia
For two thousand years, cadavers have been involved in science's boldest strides and weirdest undertakings. They've tested France's first guillotines, ridden the NASA Space Shuttle, been crucified in a Parisian laboratory to test the authenticity of the Shroud of Turin, and helped solve the mystery of TWA Flight 800. For every new surgical procedure, from heart transplants to gender reassignment surgery, cadavers have been there alongside surgeons, making history in their quiet way.

Funny and Informative
Revisado: 05-17-23
I really enjoyed this book. I like the macabre parts of life and have read stories of happenings at mortuary’s, cemetery’s, and morgues. This book fit well into that genre. It was fascinating learning about the different ways a corpse can be used for study. The author was informative be not morbid, I even found myself chuckling out loud when reading this book.

Lesbian. Bisexual. Queer. Transgender. Straight. Curious. This book is for everyone, regardless of gender or sexual preference. This book is for anyone who's ever dared to wonder. This book is for you. There's a long-running joke that after "coming out", a lesbian, gay guy, bisexual, or trans person should receive a membership card and instruction manual. This is that instruction manual. You're welcome.

Historia
Boisterous, ribald, and ultimately shattering, Ken Kesey's One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest has left an indelible mark on the literature of our time. Turning conventional notions of sanity and insanity on their heads, the novel tells the unforgettable story of a mental ward and its inhabitants, especially tyrannical Big Nurse Ratched and Randle Patrick McMurphy, the brawling, fun-loving new inmate who resolves to oppose her.

I had not read this book before but knew the main story because of the movie. I loved that the book is written from Chiefs point of view. He adds a little bit of clarity into the story that the book needs.
John C. Reilly was the best narrator I have listed to since Jim Dale!

Decent book
Revisado: 03-30-19
This book was probably really good if I had read the actual book as opposed to listening to it. I found it somewhat difficult to discern the different characters Mandvi was portraying. I think this book would have benefited from multiple readers.
Having said that it was a very good story.

Captivating
Revisado: 02-19-19
This book is like dipping my toes into the true crime genre. I was at times riveted and saddened but the book had me until the end. Michelle McNamara could have been an obsessive annoyance to the investigation but instead she took a hard look at a case that so many weren’t able to and decided to do everything in her power to bring a predator to justice. She conveyed the pain and suffering of the victims and all they went through without compromising their dignity. I believe that to be one of the best things she could have done.
Before she passed she penned a letter to the Golden State Killer telling him all that she believed would happen to him in the event of his capture. She was right. While the book itself may not have led to the capture of this man her dedication to finding him most certainly did.

Historia
Before John Glenn orbited the Earth or Neil Armstrong walked on the moon, a group of dedicated female mathematicians known as "human computers" used pencils, slide rules, and adding machines to calculate the numbers that would launch rockets and astronauts into space. Among these problem solvers were a group of exceptionally talented African American women, some of the brightest minds of their generation.

Beautifully written and well read. The story of these women was a long time coming. This country has a rich history of forgotten women and the contributions they made. In this book the history of the black women of NACA/NASA are finally given their due.

Historia
Pierce Waverly, the Earl of Devonmont, has led an unabashed rogue’s life, letting no woman near his heart. Inexplicably abandoned as a child to be raised by distant relatives, he never forgave his parents, refusing to read any of his mother’s letters after his father’s death. Then came a letter that shook his resolve. A Christmas visit to Montcliff might prove his last chance to discover the truth of his past, and come to terms with the stranger he calls "Mother". But two surprises await him at Montcliff....

Poor narration.
Revisado: 11-21-15
I usually love Sabrina Jeffries' books. This one was not exactly and exception. The story was good and I liked the characters, the flow of the book was also very good. However, I wanted to strangle the performer. He took a young and and made him sound as if he were halfway to his deathbed. While this was bad it also made it seem kind of off putting to have him involved with such a young woman. (His voice for her was pretty bad also). I made it about halfway through the book and finally gave up and finished it myself on my kindle. Will not be listening to any more books narrated by Mr. Page.
