Historia
"Who am I? What is my purpose? What is my life all about?" These are questions Christians are asking all over the world. Why is this? It is because something is stirring deep within their beings, telling them there is more that God wants to show them about himself, and there is more of him that they desperately need in order to answer those questions. The Journey to the Inner Chamber is a creative allegory that introduces a path of discovery that will lead the listener to the answers to many of those questions.

Great narrator and fast paced Bigfoot horror story!
Revisado: 07-30-24
I had initially thought that the narration lacked something that I couldn’t quite put my finger on. But as the story went on I realized that this narrator was actually great at doing all the voices (including the ladies and Ben, the Native American man) but the main character’s. It wasn’t that he wasn’t good enough for voicing his character, I just had different expectations for what I expected the manly main character to sound like, but overall this voice actor did an excellent job. Story itself was good also. You can tell that it was written in the early 2000’s which took me back to my 20’s, during a time when we didn’t understand cultural bias. This book covers some interesting topics in that it calls the Native American, an Indian and brings in the cultural stereotype that they had a much deeper connection with the Earth and the animals who live here which wouldn’t be considered “woke” now. But putting aside some of these issues the story is a good horror creature feature that isn’t afraid to get its hands dirty. The story keeps a good pace and gives the reader not only the 1st person perspective of all the major characters but also of the creature itself, providing a unique perspective into its motivations. All in all this book is a great story that should be enjoyed by anyone who loves a great horror story featuring an iconic creature from legend!

Great book, poor narrative
Revisado: 05-07-24
Luckily the book’s writing was good enough to keep me listening because the computer generated voice was pretty bad. It provided little to no emotion during emotional situations which cheapened the experience unfortunately. The voice over spots where they must’ve re-recorded the scene made the experience nearly unbearable at times. However, the story itself is creative and breaths new life into a an old story which was very refreshing. The written dialogue was great and description of the scenery put you into the breathtaking landscape. Hopefully the publication company redo the voice over AI automation and get a real person to voice it given the reviews complaining about the quality of the AI or I fear this book will be overlooked.

Historia
Karyn and her husband Roy had come to the peaceful California village of Drago to escape the savagery of the city. On the surface, Drago appeared to be like most small rural towns. But it was not. The village had a most unsavory history. Unexplained disappearances, sudden deaths. People just vanished, never to be found.

Surprisingly not as good as the movie
Revisado: 10-06-23
I have been looking for this audiobook for years without success so I was super excited to see it on here yesterday. I had started to read it many times on my kindle but life got in the way so I was over the moon when I saw 1 and 2 were on here. I enjoyed the narrator and story was good, however, having seen the 1981 film by Joe Dante and being a huge fan of it, I couldn’t help but feel some disappointment at the werewolves and the story not being as good. I get that it’s not fair to judge the two against each other, but I couldn’t help it given how big a fan I am of the movie and genre. All in all this is a good listen and do recommend it to others but if you are a big fan of the movie then you may find this story a bit of a let down.

An okay take on the werewolf legend
Revisado: 04-25-19
Although not a great story it’s entertaining enough. The narrator does an okay job given this is his first time. Some of his attempts at narrative for the younger characters left a lot to be desired and bordered on being down right annoying such as when speaking for the Simmons little girl Cathy and even the main male character who is a teenage boy. While I know that this is no fault of the writer it is off putting considering this is an audio book. However, all in all the overall story is good enough to keep you entertained throughout the duration.
