For those of us who have loved the print version of this classic romance for years (decades even), let me give you a little piece of advice: In order to enjoy this audible version you’ll need to come in with no expectations about any of the characters’ voices or accents and — most of all — you must get used to our beloved Ruark Beauchamp’s sexy name being pronounced as Roo-ARK Beachim (English pronunciation). I was absolutely taken aback the first time I heard it! I’d always imagined his French-origin name being pronounced as such, so it took me 7 chapters to come to terms with this. Other than that, her performance was excellent. She sounds a bit like Angela Landsbury, but her passion and energy is top notch. The overall listening experience would have been greatly improved if a more youthful sounding narrator had been selected — someone highly skilled in narrating regency era romance novels, with convincing male voices. “Shanna” is one of my all time favorite romance novels, so if you can get through everything I described above, you’ll enjoy it immensely. KEW novels were our version of ‘Netflix and chill’ back in the 70s. On to The Wolf and the Dove!

An amazing resource, no matter where you are in your life or career!

As a seasoned professional who has successfully reinvented myself a few times in my both my personal and professional life, I wondered whether Coach Pamela could teach me anything new. Boy was I pleasantly surprised!
I’m currently thinking about my next act, which — as Coach Pamela so aptly describes it — involves retiring from a career but not retiring from life.
As I listened to her clear guidance, illustrated with stories from her own personal experiences and the experiences of her many clients, I found myself applauding at the end of each chapter (I’ve never done that before). I felt seen.
I look forward to working through each of the ‘coaching requests’ she offers (check out the accompanying .pdf), and embarking on my next reinvention journey. This time with a lot more structure than I’ve had in the past.
This Audible Original is an amazing resource for everyone, no matter where you are in your life or career. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
