Historia
The biggest lie in history is about to be shattered. UFOs are real. In late June of 1947, three extraterrestrial craft were downed outside Roswell Air Force Base. Many more followed, revealing dozens of ET species and a Rosetta Stone to a new physics, an energy generation and propulsion system responsible for interstellar space travel. This new system could have easily replaced oil, gas, coal, and nuclear plants - and with them, the entire geopolitical and economic order on our planet. But a cabal of bankers, the military-industrial complex, and Big Oil stopped it.

Historia
Artificial intelligence is smarter than humans. It can process information at lightning speed and remain focused on specific tasks without distraction. AI can see into the future, predicting outcomes and even use sensors to see around physical and virtual corners. So why does Intelligence frequently get it so wrong? The answer is us. Humans design the algorithms that define the way that AI works and the processed information reflects an imperfect world.

Historia
In The Trail of Gold and Silver, historian Duane A. Smith details Colorado's mining saga - a story that stretches from the beginning of the gold and silver mining rush in the mid-19th century into the 21st century. Gold and silver mining laid the foundation for Colorado's economy, and 1859 marked the beginning of a fever for these precious metals.

I loved the comprehensive history of our Colorado mining and how it shaped today’s landscape. Living in the foothills west of Denver, the mining history about our communities is often superficial at best.

Historia
The Colorado River is an essential resource for a surprisingly large part of the United States, and every gallon that flows down it is owned or claimed by someone. David Owen traces all that water from the Colorado’s headwaters to its parched terminus, once a verdant wetland but now a million-acre desert. He takes listeners on an adventure downriver, along a labyrinth of waterways, reservoirs, power plants, farms, fracking sites, ghost towns, and RV parks, to the spot near the US-Mexico border where the river runs dry.

Western Water - A Must Listen
Revisado: 01-11-23
David Owen has written a very informative and entertaining book on water in the western USA; the confusing and often contradictory laws of water rights, evolution of the culture surrounding water and the serious predicament we are in. One may think this is likely to be a dry [sic], boring text, and you would be wrong.

Historia
In the Heart of the Rockies is packed with adventure! In 1860, 16-year-old Tom Wade leaves England for the American Far West to find his uncle and to improve his family fortunes. Arriving at the small western outpost of Denver to mine for gold, he soon encounters Native American warriors, takes part in big-game hunts, and learns how to survive a frigid mountain winter with nothing but resourcefulness and perseverance.

Very Disapointing.
Revisado: 02-27-20
Performance: Jim's voice inflections constantly make me feel like he was reading a story to children. His voice characterizations were distinct and consistent. Pacing and enunciation were very good.
Story: I was sorely disappointed that the author missed many opportunists to develop this story, the cultures, and the majestic land where the story occurred. As a Coloradoan living very near to the story it appears that he has never visited the area. I felt that he lacked or cared little about the cultures of which he wrote about. The historical, geological, and geographic references were thin at best. The bottom line is this felt like a rushed novel.

Polls reveal that 85 percent of Americans believe there was a conspiracy behind Lee Harvey Oswald. Some even believe Oswald was entirely innocent. In this encyclopedic, absorbing audiobook, Vincent Bugliosi shows how the public has come to believe such lies about the day that changed the course of history. Bugliosi has devoted almost 20 years of his life to this project, and is determined to show that, despite the overwhelming popular perception, Oswald killed Kennedy and acted alone.

The author almost lost me in the intro; however once he hit the body of the book he had my total attention. A very good read that logically disproves the glamorous conspiracy theories out there.

Joe Kenda investigated 387 murder cases during his 23 years with the Colorado Springs Police Department and solved almost all of them. And he is ready to detail the cases that are too gruesome to air on television, cases that still haunt him, and the few cases where the killer got away. These cases are horrifyingly real, and the detail is so mesmerizing you won't be able to turn it off.

Revisado: 02-22-19
If you enjoy the TV series you will absolutely love this book. Many authors are not good oral storytellers, Mr. Kenda is clearly an exceptional talent; cop, author, and narrator. Joe, I hope to run into you at a doughnut shop in C-Springs! Oh, my error, a power ring shop in C-Springs....

Historia
It started on a summer afternoon in 1795 when a young man named Daniel McGinnis found what appeared to be an old site on an island off the Acadian coast, a coastline fabled for the skullduggery of pirates. Ever since that summer day, the possibility of what might be hidden in the depths of a small island off the south coast of Nova Scotia, Canada, has made it the site of the world's longest, most expensive, and most perplexing treasure hunt. Author D'Arcy O'Connor recounts the fascinating stories and amazing discoveries of past and current treasure seekers who have sought Oak Island's fabled treasure for over 200 years.

Nice Historical Summary
Revisado: 12-28-18
The author presented a nice factual summary of the legion's history and the personalities of the contemporary searchers. I would recommend this book to anyone who watches "The Curse of Oak Island" as it really broadens your view of the island and the legion.
I struggled a bit with the narration, which at times was dry; however this is likely jaded by the fact that the preceding work I had finished was the best narrated book I have ever heard.

Historia
On July 20, 2012 in Aurora, Colorado, a man in dark body armor and a gas mask entered a midnight premiere of The Dark Knight Rises with a tactical shotgun, a high-capacity assault rifle, and a sidearm. Soon twelve were dead and fifty-eight were wounded. A Dark Night in Aurora uses the twenty-three hours of unredacted interview transcripts never seen by the public and Reid’s research to bring the listener inside the mind of a mass murderer. The result is chilling, gripping study of abnormal psychology and how a lovely boy named Jimmy became a killer.

Historia
George Orwell depicts a gray, totalitarian world dominated by Big Brother and its vast network of agents, including the Thought Police - a world in which news is manufactured according to the authorities' will and people live tepid lives by rote. Winston Smith, a hero with no heroic qualities, longs only for truth and decency. But living in a social system in which privacy does not exist and where those with unorthodox ideas are brainwashed or put to death, he knows there is no hope for him.
