Historia
With Fred ready to give birth and the revelation that Mary is also pregnant, spirits are high in the community. For Morgan, however, it's just one more thing to worry about. His mom and dad are now settled in and getting to work, but the babies are coming, the milking barn needs to be built, and the power plant must be kept running. To make matters worse, they're now dealing with the US Army. Morgan has real concerns once he hears about the Army's plans and what they expect of the people of Lake County. After more than a year without the rule of law, are the people ready to return to it?

much better
Revisado: 12-01-23
there were a few things that had me concerned such as Tabor poping back up after being supposedly dead already but he made it all make sense and added another layer of excitement into this series I didn't think possible. such a good book, I recommend this to everyone I know that reads.

Makes no sense !
Revisado: 08-23-23
It really pains me to write this review since I love this series so so much! I have all the books in the series and have read books 1-3 atleast 5 times. but this book and the story that's behind it makes no sense. they give you the same details over and over and then you find out that there are more people underground who is sort of the bad guy behind the curtains but the second level of that. you find one set of unsavory characters who have hidden behind the curtain and let all of this unfold but then find out the even worse guy who has even more power was hiding behind blue Mont all along. it makes no sense why they just didn't cease power from blue Mont when they were in control. at this point its starting to be like the walking dead. the story is just getting repetitive and thr same thing just keeps happening over and Over. only this time this bad guy was here the whole time and just sat back for 5 years doing nothing. i don't like it. he could have taken this story in several different directions and went with the one that's least likely to happen. I'm really disappointed!

Mr Forstchen I absolutely love this series. This book opened my eyes to the dangers of an emp attack. I am also a fellow history lover, especially world war 2. I feel like I have so much in common with you and would love to talk to you some day. thank you for creating this absolute master piece of a book !

too slow and way too many chapters
Revisado: 01-18-23
the book has a good story to it but the author is just putting in way too many details. a street fight in the book took what felt like 30 minutes to play out and it was scattered across several chapters. there would be an event going on and it would take several chapters to explain everything even though litteraly nothing had changed. its almost like someone stopping mid sentence to start another chapter. story was also VERY predictable.

Historia
World War III is a few months month old. After attacking and sinking the Destroyer USS Stacy Heath, the Chinese seize control of Nepal and Bhutan and push into India where the Allies manage to stop them. But for how long? Pakistan is attacking from the north - and China is preparing for the "big push" from the east. Worse yet, China's Ministry of State Security has orders to assassinate the Dalai Lama, rather than run the risk that he will inspire a Buddhist rebellion in Tibet.

perfectly horrible
Revisado: 06-13-22
the storyline is great, but every time the team tries to evacuate the enemy attacks at the worst possible time. once maybe twice is believable but when you have 5 or 5 different attempts and the enemy ALWAYS shows up at the worst possible time is exhausting. the book gets predictable. this book is nothing but failed attempts of a green beret team trying to get a baby out of Nepal. they fail miserabley over and over again. I assume they eventually get him out but idk, I didn't even bother to finish the book.

Already cited on the floor of Congress and discussed in the corridors of the Pentagon as a book all Americans should read, One Second After is the story of a war scenario that could become all too terrifyingly real. Based upon a real weapon - the Electro Magnetic Pulse (EMP) - which may already be in the hands of our enemies, it is a truly realistic look at the awesome power of a weapon that can destroy the entire United States.
