Historia
Former ace fighter pilot Bree Jagdea’s days of high-octane, white-knuckle dogfights are long behind her. Content with executing supply runs for the war effort, Jagdea considers herself retired. But when enemy forces start a relentless bombing campaign through the hive city of Vesperus, Jagdea is forced back into the Aeronautica – stationed with the infamous Circus 66 squadron, executing near-suicidal dead-drops and blistering interception runs through Vesperus’ lethal rat runs.

The character development and story were amazing
Revisado: 03-31-25
This is a perfect sequel to Double Eagle! I’m blown away. The mix of aerial action, suspense, murder mystery, character development was spot on. This could also be looked at as a leadership development book. I’m absolutely delighted to say that Dan Abnett knocked another one out of the park. Must read for 40K fans.

A good ending doesn’t make up for the rest of the book
Revisado: 11-21-24
This book started off okay then quickly fell off. Kyn terminology was not explained, history was barely touched on, and was extremely slow. This book could have easily been 5 hours to end up where it did. For being the first LoV book we deserved more lore to prop up the story. The main character was not a bad one, she was honestly interesting just felt half hearted in the character development. The end of the book was the best part, with a huge battle and a predictable twist. I found myself having to rewind the audiobook multiple times cause I found myself zoning out cause the story wasn’t engaging. Hopefully the next Leagues of Votann book explains more about the history of the Kyn. Hope this helps readers on the ropes about listening this and make up their own mind.

Simlex and Lucille are back! Simlex is still a brooding idealist, and Lucille is still arrogant and wild… though a lot less confident. Another fun novel, let’s hope for #3.

Historia
In the immense city of Varangantua, life is cheap, but mistakes are expensive. When Probator Agusto Zidarov of the city’s enforcers is charged with locating the missing scion of a wealthy family, he knows full well that the chances of finding him alive are slight. The people demanding answers, though, are powerful and ruthless, and he is soon immersed in a world of criminal cartels and corporate warfare where even an enforcer’s survival is far from guaranteed.

Revisado: 08-07-24
This book was fantastic, period. The aristocratic intrigue, the glimpse of everyday life in a hive world, the corruption, the secrets, the finality of not being in a place to really make a change or so we think. This book kept in reader in the grim darkness of the far future, and keeps you listening…

If you like Grimdark stories… the end of this will leave you shook
Revisado: 05-25-24
This was pleasant surprise. Readers who have read about the Death Korps of Krieg will see lot of the same themes, but the sheer level of attrition, callous disregard of life for the sake of logic and pursuit of victory chills you. The end of this book left me in silence. It doesn’t end the way you want. Quite the opposite, but fully suits the grimdark setting.

I have not listened to a lot of Militarum stories, and this was a great one. Very personable, good character development. Lots of twists and turns. The narrator did a great job as well, telling the Sergeant’s point of view and how she thought. It was a great listen.

Historia
Before the being called the Emperor revealed himself, before the rise of the aeldari, before the necrontyr traded their flesh for immortal metal, the world was born in violence. Even when they inhabited bodies of flesh, Trazyn the Infinite and Orikan the Diviner were polar opposites. Trazyn, a collector of historical oddities, presides over a gallery full of the most dangerous artefacts - and people - of the galactic past. Orikan, a chronomancer without peer, draws zodiacs that predict and manipulate the future.
