Historia
In this epic Biblical narrative, ideal for fans of The Bible miniseries, a young woman taken into the prophet Isaiah's household rises to capture the heart of the future king. Isaiah adopts Ishma, giving her a new name - Zibah, delight of the Lord - thereby ensuring her royal pedigree. Ishma came to the prophet's home, devastated after watching her family destroyed and living as a captive. But as the years pass, Zibah's lively spirit wins Prince Hezekiah's favor, a boy determined to rebuild the kingdom his father has nearly destroyed.

This is a marvelous book. I don’t know how she does it but I have loved every book she has written. I too want to be a Hezabah. I’m sure I misspelled it but it means..God’s Delight. I read the scriptures mentioned in the book as the story unfolded. I have learned SO much! Please read if you are interested in learning about King Hezakiah and his reign.

This is a re-imagining of the story of Elijah from the Bible...Elijah is a young prophet studying the Torah, when the soldiers of Queen Jezebel burn his school and massacre his teachers. He escapes, barely, but finds himself on the run and hunted....as Queen Jezebel attempts to stamp out the worship of the Hebrew God in Israel and replace it with the worship of Ba’al. As the queen’s soldiers close in on him, Elijah discovers a little known promise in the Scroll of Deuteronomy and prays for something impossible....

You have an enemy...and he's dead set on destroying all you hold dear and keeping you from experiencing abundant life in Christ. What's more, his approach to disrupting your life and discrediting your faith isn't general or generic, not a one-size-fits-all. It's specific. Personalized. Targeted. So this audiobook is your chance to strike back. With prayer. With a weapon that really works.

What a fantastic book on prayer! I love the devotion to God Priscilla exemplifies as she reads. She has encouraged me to write down my most heartfelt prayers and post them throughout my home. To command Satan to get behind me. I want my prayers answered and I know you do also. Thank you Priscilla for this book. I will be listening to it again and again.

January 1945, Dachau, Germany. As the train rattles through the bright, snowy Bavarian countryside, the still beauty outside the window hides the terrible scenes inside the train, where men and women are packed together, cold and terrified. Jewish watchmaker Isaac Schüller can’t understand how he came to be here, and is certain he won’t be leaving alive.

This book is very well written , but is very descriptive of prison life in the camp. It made me sad to listen to it but I could not stop.
It still baffles me how anyone could be so cruel as Hitler and his regime.

A Captivating Book of War and Love
Revisado: 09-11-21
I am so glad I listened to this book. I have read and listened to so many World War 11 books that I keep telling myself not to listen and read anymore, but this book has magic, bravery, love, and yes sadness. I will buy a copy of it and give it to my daughter who doesn’t like to listen to books but hold them in her hand.
I suggest you give it a try.

This is a fascinating book to listen to. It’s one that you don’t want to stop. Listener beware there is a lot of profanity because the main character was that kind of woman. She was also a true war hero that men respected and obeyed. I am going to read her biography next.

Historia
August 1939: London is dismal under the weight of impending war with Germany as Hitler’s forces continue to sweep across Europe. Into this uncertain maelstrom steps Grace Bennett, young and ready for a fresh start in the bustling city streets she’s always dreamed of - and miles away from her troubled past in the countryside. With aspirations of working at a department store, Grace never imagined she’d wind up employed at Primrose Hill, an offbeat bookshop nestled in the heart of the city - after all, she’s never been much of a reader.

What A Beautiful Story
Revisado: 08-18-21
This book caught my heart from the beginning. I’ve read so many World War 11 stories that I was hesitant to read another one but I am so glad I did. The characters in this book are just wonderful. I literally couldn’t put the book down. Such an endearing story of how Grace helped others get through such a devastating war and not give up hope.

Mesmerizing
Revisado: 08-13-21
I wanted to read this book to get a real understanding of the Spanish flu epidemic. I wasn’t expecting such an interesting story. The characters were fantastic and the story line is just stupendous. We all know America is made up of immigrants. It’s so disheartening to know there has always been and always will be people who think they are better than others. But, at the same time, there are always many people who love others no matter who they are or where they come from. This book displays both and does a great job from beginning to end.

Historia
Lina Meisel, a retired librarian in Florida, is reading the newspaper one morning when she freezes. Her eyes lock on a photograph of a book she hasn’t seen in 65 years - a book she recognizes as The Book of Lost Names. The accompanying article discusses the looting of libraries by the Nazis across Europe during World War II - an experience Lina remembers well - and the search to reunite people with the texts stolen from them so long ago. The book in the photograph is one of the most fascinating cases.

I am not good at writing reviews but this is an amazing book. There aren’t any parts that are boring or dull. It’s captivating from the first page to the last. To know that there were actually people that gave their lives to help others escape to freedom just makes you wish you could meet them in person and thank them for their sacrifice.
I am so thankful for all the people who sacrificed their lives so I can live in freedom. We should always remember, freedom isn’t free.
