Wow. Amazing writing

I love this series so much. It’s so full of heartache and pain. I definitely hope there’s a warning to people who might be triggered by this book, I didn’t notice. I’ve never read in such great detail about pain and post traumatic stress like I have with Livy. The author does such a great job writing about her struggles with her addiction. It’s such a happy and redemptive ending, I’m so glad I finally got to this one. I wish we could get another amazing series by VV!

My first Grace Callaway!

Wow what a ride! Even though I didn’t love the writing as much as I like other Romance authors, I loved the pace of this story. And just when you thought it was over, there’s more huge surprises around the corner! The story was great, and longer than some, but it was all worth it in the end! I love a Scot in control, even though it’s not everyone’s cup of tea. He still respected her every inch of the way. The poetic descriptions of some of the really naughty sex scenes can be a bit for some, but I didn’t mind them, I guess I’m used to graphic romance novels! I’m looking forward to discovering more of GC’s Universe!

My favorite Ravennel!

This series has its ups and downs, I tend to like the ones where the couple like and respect each other from the beginning. No hatred between the two. Just something bigger and more dramatic than them getting in the way. It’s such an exciting and good storyline from the beginning! From their banter at the fencing gym, to Dr. Gibson’s amazing courage while saving him, leading to the end. I want to see more of their storyline as their connections to the Ravennels unravels! What about a novella with Helen and Ethan’s family having a storyline? The two outsider siblings of the Ravennels. Just saying. Love this one on its own and as a re-read!

Horrible heroine

I hated this story so much I had to skip through the middle just to hear the ending. Pandora is the worst heroine of all the Kleypas books I’ve listened to. She is a bitch and a brat who doesn’t deserve the doting loving Gabriel as a mate. I thought I didn’t like Kathleen from the first Ravennel book, but she’s a breath of fresh air compared to the undeserving immature Pandora. I absolutely hated this book.

One of my favorite LK books.

I love how this book gets right down to business and wastes no time with the lovers Winterborne and Helen. Much like Devil in Winter from the Wallflowers series it picks up right where the last book’s epilogue ends, which makes it so easy to start the new novel. This narrator has grown on me from some of the past books and I take back all the stuff I said about her. Her characters are well rounded out and I can hear the difference between all of them, including the twins. The surprise in the novel was a bit clunky, as it came out of nowhere, but it ended without too much drama. Helen is such a great heroine, as she grows and learns through out the book. Very strong woman which makes it a better romance novel.

Worst Hathaway story!

I really hated this book. I know in order to have a book there must be drama and intrigue, but this story is so stupid. Katherine is the most stubborn character ever imagined. I know her childhood warrants distrust of others, but she’s so dumb, and yet insists she’s so moral and smarter than everyone else. Why doesn’t anyone in this series have emotional intelligence until the end of the book? I know it’s just a book, but it’s not even entertaining one drama after another. I really hated this book so much I skipped much of the ending just to get to the happy parts. Easily skipped if you want to get to the end of the series.

My least favorite Kleypas book

I wanted to like this story so much. Im reading the Hathaway books in order, and I always look ahead to see what’s in store next. This one looked particularly different and I was excited about Poppy falling for the hotelier Harry Rutledge. But she becomes wishy washy about who she wants to be with, and Harry seems like a monster at first who bullies her to the alter. I can’t stand Marks, her companion for most of the book and contemplated not finishing the series, since she’s the heroine in the next book.
However, when poppy finally visits her family in Hampshire towards the end of the book is when the story finally moves forward. When the Hathaways are together as a family (with Cam and Merripen) the book finally shines like all of Kleypas books, and Poppy’s character makes more sense. When Marks finally tells Poppy who Harry is the characters come to life a little more. But until we get to that point as a reader, all these characters seem small minded, dumb, or just plain mean and snobbish. I guess you don’t know someone until you know someone! The hot and heavy scenes are ok, though Harry seems to always be high handed and a brute. Still not my favorite but once I’m in a series I’m pretty locked in.

Lisa Kleypas is always a joy!

I think every one of Kleypas historic romance books are my favorite until I read/listen to the next one! In “Again the Magic” I was so delighted to find myself immersed in 2 sisters stories. In this book you get 2 separate lover’s romances in one beautiful book. At times it was upsetting that Alene was so stubborn against the love she clearly has for McKenna, but the humanity of her issues stemming from the accident overpowers it and I feel so much compassion for her. I love that this story in particular didn’t have any violent dramatic twist endings, like so many second to last chapters in her novels, but rather a race to tell her hero the truth. It was more powerful than all the other frantic endings of her novels, as good as they all are. A must read especially if you love The Wallflowers!

Best Lisa Kleypas I’ve listened to yet!

I’m in love with her books. This one especially. I love how her books are part of the same universe. I wasn’t expecting that Cravens was the same place talked about in the wallflower series, which I adored mostly. Sara is her best heroine yet, and Derek her best hero. I love the two of them and their story. I’m wondering if all her romance historicals are part of the same universe? Can’t wait to find out!

Love LK especially this one!

I loved this book of LK’s. It made me more anxious than any of the wallflower books, with a lot more action in it. Every romance book I listen to, I get so upset that people just don’t communicate well and tell one another their truths, but then I realize that there wouldn’t be a story without that drama. I disagree with everyone about Rosalyn L’s narration. She is by far the best narrator of any historical romance novel. She can do American accents better than most, as well as men and children and of course leading ladies. Great listen.
