Story moved rather slowly and not much really happened. The kicker is it ended abruptly, not quite a cliff hanger. The worst part, this came out in 2021 and there is not a 2nd book to finish the story. Who writes half a book? I wouldn't recommend this.

More Porn than Plot

If you're into Dom/Sub play and love a ton of sex scenes, this book may be for you. If you want an interesting and engaging story with the occasional hot sex scene thrown in, this book is definitely not for you. I didn't find the book to be all that humorous, certainly no laugh out loud moments. The sex was pretty hot but it just dominated the entire storyline. My safe words, "Don't believe all the reviews".

Slow, repetitive.

So very slow, slow, slow. It could have been an interesting short story by condensing the first 12 or so chapters down to one. I eventually sped the audio up to x2 just so I could finish.

Sometimes the rating system lets me down, this was one of those times. I love sci-fi and I love m-m romance but I did not love this story. It feels like it was written in the 50s but by someone who never read sci-fi or is familiar with gay relationships.

Serious overuse of derogatory terms for gay men by basically everyone. World building...poor. Character development...poor. I found that the MC who was MIA is treated as a criminal and traitor immediately to be unrealistic. His counterparts coming out story was so cliche it became very annoying to hear over and over. I was secretly rooting for the aliens to end humanity..but alas, they didn't. I see there are two more books in the series, I hope they're better, but I'll never know.

I loved it. Great narrator with interesting characters and good storyline. I would like to see Vic and Adam together a bit more.

Couldn't End Quick Enough

Very boring to listen to. Haven't disliked a book this much in a long time. Rhiles life is basically narrated to you chapter after chapter since he has a bad case of CRS. Husband cries...a lot. Brother repeats back every question he's asked or anything he's told...a lot. Lots of running away from unseen antagonists. Lots of driving and running away. Really reads like a YA.

Faster than a speeding snail

Not often I don't finish a book but this just didn't seem to be going anywhere. The plot is so slow and mostly pointless. I stopped listening around chapter 88, a little over half of the book. Maybe I'll listen to more later if I run out of Audible credits, but hopefully I won't.
