I love that Bob’s soft side really shone in this book! Obviously, I would love to have Bob Hoon stay here in US with us for another book…come visit Northern Michigan, pretty sure he will like weather better! Ha!
I enjoyed all of DCI Logan…and normally I don’t like a lot of cussing in a book…Bob Hoon is my one exception. And the series is better each book. While I did miss Jack and the gang in this book, but I DID super enjoy Sarah and Elvis, and even the Duchess just “fit”. It was a wild ride but I couldn’t let a bit go…and several parts I backed up and replayed so I didn’t miss a clue. Great ending….but I hope it’s not a forever end story. And I hope to see Elvis, Sarah, Miles and Duchess again very soon….❤️

This series by far one of my favorite! The first one was good, and every book after gets better and better, with this one being favorite in this series. (To be fair, the four Bob Hoon books are my absolute favorites but you need this series as background and it’s really good too)
This particular one tugged at my heartstrings a little hard, after having difficult relationship with my own dad. Love how Jack gives in at the the end, and there is multiple cliffhangers! And normally I hate cliffhangers but these are all fantastic ones in multiple directions!!
I will definitely be “holding my breath” for next book, especially if there’s one focused with Bob Hoon and Tyler together!!! Wow!! I’m laughing just THINKING about! Write faster!! I’m hooking everyone I know on this series!!!

My favorite road trip series…

JD Kirk is now definitely one of my top authors to listen to, and Angus King narrates the characters perfectly. I can’t imagine anyone one else doing Logan or Hoon. The descriptions of scenery weren’t quite as strong in this book as in past, but I still want to visit Scotland Highlands just from reading this series.
I love all these characters. Bob Hoon is by far my favorite. I feel like I know each of them intimately and I miss them all like they are real people. I’m so glad he brings back them in all the books. I hope Olivia ends up being adopted by Shauna. I even miss some of the not-so-bad guys…wondering what eventually happened…
Please bring back Hoon’s love interest…he deserves some happiness…and hook Berta up with SOMEONE!!! She deserves a chance!
WARNING: Don’t try to fall asleep to this book. Random humor will have you wide awake laughing out loud and texting to tell people who could care less…also has a surprise twist towards end….

I can’t get enough of Joe and Skippy!!! Wish he could write faster.
If anything negative, some of scenes get so technical they lose my non-sci-fi brain.
Normally, Sci-Fi is not my genre of choice. But this “feels” more mystery and comedy. I love the galaxy and the mystery surrounding that Craig Alanson has created.

Normally, I avoid books with too much cursing….but in this book, it FITS. Bob Hoon is the character you want to hate but then you end up loving him. He’s definitely someone loyal, and you want him on your side. These books are better every single one. I can’t wait for the next one!!!

I’m not normally a sci-fi fan, but, I love Joe and Skippy. Not sure I like Angry Joe in this book, but I love Bumbling Joe and he’s definitely still in there.
Some of the scenes seemed repetitive, and telling bad guys to “Shut your mouth” is old, but overall I love the imagination and details of this book.
I really kinda wish they can find another elder AI like skippy, so Emily Perkins, or one of the girls in series, can have similar adventures and she could compete with Joe more….would be a fun twist to somehow discover another galaxy and maybe get allies from elsewhere

This author is one of my favorites, and I LOVE how she ties characters from one book to another....but this one really had some interesting twists, every which way....I loved it from the get go...but, I felt she really didn’t develop the bad guys enough...there was just too many...either way, I practically listened non-stop...I long to step back in time and live in Burning Cove!!!
