some story icks- this is my woman and future wife even if she doesn't want it doesn't sit well for me. the ai virtual voice does not do it for me. it's missing the inflection and passion you would have heard- it doesn't do voices for different characters which results in not being able to tell when the female or male characters perspectives are happening at first. causes confusion.

gives off spicy goes nowhere

eludes to potential heavy spice and not even a fade to black shows up. the teasing about lingerie and packages seems to be that it wouldn't be a good fit for someone who prefers clean and sweet romances but then it doesn't deliver for someone who would prefer something spicy. even for a quick read it had potential and didn't deliver

pregnancy trope with giving up dreams🤢

good spice, decent writing. crappy trope. not a fan of the woman gives up her dreams and eventually ends up in the small town she so desperately wanted to leave growing up all because it works best for the story that everyone lives close to one another. happily ever after doesn't have to mean give up dreams

world building/story setting is always hard for me so the first 1/4 of this book was torturous. then the middle section was interesting and intriguing but I would get bored and move on to something else, and then the end. OMG THE END. so good. highly recommend. 4.5 stars

Audio documenrary

Really interesting! I had no idea the neo-nazi/friends of New Germany movement at the beginning of the 1900s. What an incredible story of Jewish members of society fighting back against the anti-semitism. It was like listening to a documentary on the story. Really well done. Definitely interested in learning more about this. Would totally watch a Netflix special on it!

HIGH-LARIOUS

If you love parks and rec and the character Retta plays - Donna, you will love this book. It feels like something Donna would have done and it is PRECIOUS. I can't tell you how many times I cracked up at the side comments and the quick steps. This was straight GOLD. Which is pretty dang awesome especially when it's one of the free books of the month! I loved this and hope Matthew boren and Retta team up again in the future because I will be HERE FOR IT.

I was not expecting to love this.

This is a western--which means by golly I was not going to care for it. It had a male protagonist which was even more likely for me to not care. But gosh dangit Joseph Johnson done took my heart and ran off with it. The emotion and love that comes from this book was just overwhelming. I couldn't put it down. I ignored my family for days to listen to this book. I would have lost my job if I wasn't a stay at home mom. My kids ate cereal for breakfast lunch and dinner (much to their complaints - spoiler alert, they didn't complain). Yet again, Andrew eiden blew me away with his story. Definitely a new favorite.

This listens like a podcast - Really eye opening. I have definitely felt the burnout in my own business with the incessant need to be work 24/7 whether it be to get more clients, post on social media, planning the next big thing for my business, collaboration with others in my field or similar fields, etc. It's an exhausting thing and I'm grateful to be working my way through it- I left (mostly) to be a stay at home mom and I get anxious when I think about the idea of ever going back full time into my field. It's nice to see the recognition of it and hopefully find outcomes.
