Good Story. Painful to Listen Faux-French Accent

Good story with much action, mostly realistic characters if some were rather shallow. I’d have given this a significantly higher rating except for the mediocre narration and painful faux-French accent. I’d enjoyed this much better if this narrator had used his very good English accents for all the characters.

A Decent but Disappointing Sequel

I thoroughly enjoyed Lost Mountain Pass with intriguing storyline, interesting characters, and plenty of action. The Broken Bow has many of the same or similar good points but the story is interrupted too often with flashbacks and redundant retellings of parts of the first book: to this reader unnecessary and disruptive of a potentially excellent & exciting sequel. Unlike Lost Mountain Pass I was actually glad when this book ended and have little interest in reading the next installment.

The Long, Slow, & Boring Beginning

I’ve enjoyed all of the Luke Jensen stories, and most of the Jensen family stories I’ve listened to so far. They’ve been among my favorites but this audiobook seemed to drag on with needless & repetitive details & conversations. A disappointing listen for this fan of the Luke Jensen series.

Topgun: A Great Story!!

A fantastic memoir of one of the US Navy’s top fighter pilots and the true story of the creation of the Top Gun training program at Miramar Naval Air Station. This gives much insight into the Navy’s Air Program during the Vietnam War, military life, very personal stories of the men & women who defend our country, specific air battles & dogfights, and how the Topgun movie came about with his thoughts on it. Very well prepared with excellent narration it held my interest throughout the audiobook. So much better than I had expected. Highly recommended.

An Incredible True Story Well Told

An incredibly emotional, tragic, sad story punctuated with moments of profound simple beauty & valuable insights into the human condition, man’s inhumanity, and at times, amazing kindness and selfless sacrifice to others in a morally corrupt and economically bankrupt system. That this kind of life is the norm in many parts of the world is heartbreaking, but necessary to look at our own values and behaviors as a nation and individuals. Highly recommended.

Robert Ludlum Value Collection of Little Value

I did not do my research before purchasing this collection of 3 Bourne abridged stories before purchasing. These are very abridged, lacking the depth of story line and characters I've come to enjoy in reading the original novels in the '80s and '90s. Overly dramatic narration & presentation with distracting background music. Of no value to this listener.

Listening to an Alien story after watching a few of the videos was a much more enjoyable experience than I expected. Really held my attention. I look forward to listening to more of these.

Meaning "Lost in Translation" to this listener.

Most of the teachings and meaning of the Buddha's writings were lost on this student. The author's writing style were very difficult for me to stay focused and much of Buddha's teachings were lost to me on repeated readings and listening. I believe the author was doing her best to bring Buddha's Teachings to my understanding, this reading and lessons were not within my skill set to learn what I was seeking. I'll keep studying and learning.
