The Johnston’s saga of the Jensens are all great. This establishes Smokes first elements of what made him and the individuals who helped!!

Smoke initial appearance

This story had a ton of excitement and only enhanced my love of the Johnstone heroes. After Those Jensen Boys, this has to be one of favorite books and I can’t wait to hear more of Smoke’s tale. I’m really eager to see how he meets Sally.

I enjoyed this book mainly because I have read several Smoke Jensen books and enjoyed reading about his start and how he met Preacher.

I enjoyed this book but I live 45 miles south of Chugwater, Wyoming. The land for the townsite was deeded over from The Swan Land and Cattle ranch in 1886, Chugwater was not incorporated until 1919. The glaring error in the book is it was a dry town. Chugwater did not get it’s first bar until the early 1970’s.

I have enjoyed the Mountainman Series, both Smoke's and Preacher's. This book is a bit outside those with some differences in Smoke's history. Although they do not mesh completely, I have enjoyed this book.

I love the characters in your books I can see everything your writing about I am a big western fan I love Luke and smoke Jensen and I also love the preacher character I am fascinated with the language and that there is no profanity in your books the action is exciting!!!!!!!
