This is so good. I listened while occasionally looking at the illustrated physical copy I have. The stories and narration is amazing. If you have a physical copy the art is amazing too.

They are retold folk tales we all know but told in a unique Grisha way.

I tried to like it. I really did. I ended up switching from the physical book to the audiobook to power through. (Btw the narrate, Steve West was amazing) It wasn’t that the writing was bad, because it wasn’t. I just hated the main character. He was so whiny and infuriating.

I did like the legends that were told during the novel but I don’t think I’ll be continuing the series. I would def try a different series by this author.

Cute little story about the "evil" ladies of the fairy tale world and their bratty kids.

Fun enough but no substance.

it wasn't really too different from other YA mysteries but I liked the secret society premise a lot. I also liked the narrator. She lead us around the ins and outs of the Players really well. The bad guy was pretty predictable but it didn't bother me. I still loved it.

I just finished another book that was really similar in style to this one. I guess you would call it a detective procedural. This one was so much better.

I listened to this one and the narrator was fantastic.

I've never read a crime story set in Scotland, the atmosphere was really cool.

I loved DCI Logan, his tenacity, and all of his cop friends he finds through the journey.

The story was twisted and I'm definitely going to read the next installment.

This is a fairly juvenile young adult book. At least that's how it feels based on the other young adult books I've read in recent years.

I'm not saying that's a bad thing at all I just wanted to throw it all in the review.

I enjoyed the idea of CatNet though it felt a little old-fashioned for being such a recent book. It felt more like cute picture-based AOL.

I liked all the characters and I'm interested in the evolution of Cheshire Cat.

If you like YA and Silence of the Lambs

It was pretty good. The only problem was it seemed like many of the story elements were plucked straight out of the pages of Silence of the Lambs.

Make Clarice eighteen years old and give her a few more characters to interact with and you've got None Shall Sleep.

That said, I still liked it and would read another if it turns into a series.

I loved the narration.

I expected fluff but while light it also had depth. I really enjoyed it. Give it a try if you like romance.

This is a super cute cozy mystery. I listened to it through audible and the narrator is great.

Most cozy mysteries I like need to have a cooky animal but this one has a cooky aunt and truthfully, it's just as good. And she swears in Italian!

Off topic, I listened to this all in one sitting on a road trip to a funeral. It really brightened the trip. I loved it.

I'm the minority in my opinion so take what I say with a grain of salt.

PRO:
I liked the characters and the idea of the book.

CON:
I didn't really like the story or how the idea of the book fit together.

The characters were all x 10 percent of what they would be in real life. Messy mom? House full of legos. Weird old lady? Weird old lady forces a handknitted scarf on everyone who comes through the PI's door. I love that kind of thing in cozy mysteries. These are not negative things. It's actually why I hung on reading (or listening - it was an audiobook).

The idea of the book - a PI finds out she's a witch and gets her powers while solving mysteries. That's an awesome idea!

BUT, I didn't think the story managed to put the two pieces together effectively. It also felt a little Harry Pottery (with the super bad guy and his followers) but then nothing happened with that. The PI part and the witch part barely mingled. It was almost always daily life.

The story seemed to drag a bit from me because of this lack of mingling. Every time it switched from PI land to Witch land it was a jarring change.

As for the narrator, I liked her voice and it fit the book. But there were really long pauses everytime she narrated someone else's speech. Weird thing to get hung up on I know.

But like I said, a lot of people liked this. Read their reviews too :)
