Historia
He's the most dangerous man in Chicago—and I'm his newest obsession. Dark emerald eyes. Black tattoos. A killer's smile… god, that smile… When I'm dragged to a secretive nightclub, the last thing I expect is to find myself in the owner's back office. But after he rescues me from a drunken creep, that's exactly where I end up.

it was SO bad
Revisado: 12-18-24
If this is your first Russian mafia book you may like it. For any other reader this book is super cliché with a brain dead female lead. There is more exposition than story. The main male character tells you how bad ass he is verses being a bad ass. Things like that.

Historia
Sold to the mob. Four words I never thought I'd utter. Worse, it was my father who did the unthinkable. When the creditors come to collect, I'm handed over to the most ruthless man in New York City—Luca Valentino. The head of the notorious Kings is as gorgeous as he is lethal. Dark, possessive, and violent. Nothing like the boy I grew up with, my dead brother's best friend.

(Spoilers, kinf of) If there was a blueprint on how to write a basic mob romance...
Revisado: 12-03-24
... this is the example they would use. It was too predictable. The use of the Italian language was as if someone googled a few words and then used them on repeat to try and build a character. Any actual sentence in Italian was quickly followed by an explanation as if any bilingual person talks like that. The accent on the mc sound South America. Nothing wrong with that if you ignore the fact that he is supposed to be Italian. There is no real story line here. Girl gets sold to the mob by her dad . After having a hard life and dating a douching that is in the rival gang of her " new owner." She falls for him and is put off by his ex, so he has to prove himself to her. They f.. a bunch and once there relationship is cemented, he "betrays" her (really weak in this story.) She leaves, he let's her go.( cause love.) Even though he's pointed out several times that she's in danger because he loves her. She gets kidnapped by her ex from the rival gang and he saves her. They live happily ever after. Que weak intro to storyline of next book and fade to Black.
There I saved you a credit.

All I wanted was to find answers to who I was. No one knew who had abandoned the gray-eyed baby with fiery red hair and a cry loud enough to make a man's nuts retract. I moved to Arbor Falls to find myself. Little did I know I'd be thrown into a world I didn't know existed. A world with wolves at each other's throats and enough pack politics and danger to make my head spin. Then there's the fact that I have more than one mate. Not all of them accept me because there's one gigantic problem: I'm not what they expected.

Historia
They came after the Diseray. Some were terrors ripped from our collective imaginations, remnants of every mythology across the world. And some were like nothing anyone had ever dreamed up, even in their worst nightmares. Now, the luckiest Cits live in enclosed communities, behind walls that keep them safe from the hideous monsters fighting to break through.

wow... the narration real is trash
Revisado: 01-25-23
normally, you can speed up or slow a narrator to make them sound more natural, so if that is the issue, I ignore it. YOU CAN NOT DO THAT HERE. She is truly awful. If you have Microsoft Word and can use the text to speak function, then know that the computer program voice has more humanity than this narrator. It was truly bad. Sorry, Amy Landon. She needs a new job. I will literally remember her name and avoid her performances. It was THAT bad.

Historia
I make a living out of screwing over the jerks who capture and torment supernatural beasties. But when I free a bunch of particularly powerful monsters from their cages, I'm not counting on them following me home like lost puppies - stunningly hot lost puppies, but still. These manly monsters are determined to repay me for my help, and they won't get out of my apartment, until they're satisfied we're even. There's something to be said for allies so devoted they'll tear off heads and shred souls on your behalf. I'm all for joining forces.
