Love!
Revisado: 12-22-24
Fabulous romance. Cheering for them the whole time with the biggest grin in my face. 💗 Loved the nuance of the many different journeys to parenthood among other characters, I’ve walked these paths and felt seen.

Beautiful characters, loss and longing
Revisado: 09-27-24
A richly imagined world, so much world building, hard to follow at first, other reviewers were harsh about the performance but I pressed on and it all made sense, fell in love with the characters and thought the performers told it the way it needed to be done. Loved it and need book 2!

Brilliant historical fiction
Revisado: 01-28-24
Beautifully detailed historical fiction. Pulled me into both the era and the characters. Elegantly intertwines researched facts and lived histories, viewed through the life of an imagined but very real main character and her closest companions.Loved this book!

Historia
Sally Milz is a sketch writer for The Night Owls, a late-night live comedy show that airs every Saturday. With a couple of heartbreaks under her belt, she’s long abandoned the search for love, settling instead for the occasional hook-up, career success, and a close relationship with her stepfather to round out a satisfying life. But when Sally’s friend and fellow writer Danny Horst begins dating Annabel, a glamorous actress who guest-hosted the show, he joins the not-so-exclusive group of talented but average-looking and even dorky men at the show.

Time Capsule masterpiece!
Revisado: 06-01-23
I loved this book. The characters were relatable, the structure, which another reviewer called “predictable” was never intended to be a mystery. It’s CALLED Romantic Comedy! This is a master class and I feel invited to write one now, too. People born in the 70s-80s will especially enjoy the nostalgic trek through US pop culture anecdotes and musical references. So much fun. Thank you, Curtis Sittenfeld, for a great read! Excellent audio performance by Kristen Sieh, a perfect choice to read this book.
