Kafka is one of 161 inspired-and inspiring-minds, among them, novelists, poets, playwrights, painters, philosophers, scientists, and mathematicians, who describe how they subtly maneuver the many (self-inflicted) obstacles and (self-imposed) daily rituals to get done the work they love to do, whether by waking early or staying up late; whether by self-medicating with doughnuts or bathing, drinking vast quantities of coffee, or taking long daily walks.

Autobiographical In Nature
Revisado: 02-09-25
I gave this book such a low review because I wasn’t aware prior to purchasing it that it was mostly autobiographical, nor was I aware that it covers the lives of many prominent people, some of whom are quite controversial and have done extraordinarily strange and deranged things. For example, she held performative art shows in which audience members were given permission to hit or cut her while it was allowed. The book doesn’t mention this; rather, it tells a more heroic story of the same individual, providing no context to the peculiar nature of this performer. I can’t trust the author, and neither should you.

Love It!
Revisado: 10-22-24
Quick overview of DE uses and how to use info provided for home, pets and humans. I loved it, the narrator was robotic but she sounded human. I’m surprised it was included with my subscription! I really loved it! I reviewed a letter on DE and baking soda, they recommended using kelp because it supposedly binds to dead parasites that DE kills.

Historia
Despite gold medals, WNBA championships, and a list of accolades, A’ja Wilson knows how it feels to be swept under the rug—to not be heard, to not feel seen, to not be taken seriously. As a fourth grader going to a primarily white school in South Carolina, A’ja was told she’d have to stay outside for a classmate’s birthday party. Wilson tells stories like this, about how even when life tried to hold her down, it didn’t stop her. She shares her contribution to “The Talk,” and how to keep fighting, all while igniting strength, passion, and joy.

Historia
When Lenina and Bernard visit a savage reservation, we experience how Utopia can destroy humanity. Cloning, feel-good drugs, anti-aging programs, and total social control through politics, programming, and media: has Aldous Huxley accurately predicted our future? With a storyteller's genius, he weaves these ethical controversies in a compelling narrative that dawns in the year 632 A.F. (After Ford, the deity). When Lenina and Bernard visit a savage reservation, we experience how Utopia can destroy humanity.

Criticism
Revisado: 08-17-20
This book is a blueprint for a New World order, it’s diabolical how people use this book as a framework to structure a new society. Drinking babies blood for youth, killing old people, meaningless sex, drugs replacing God, the innocence of children’s sexual exploration perverted by adults, population control, and ect. In the end one has to ask themselves what is Brave about this New World, it’s a Cowardly New World. Cowardly because your encouraged to: drug yourself to escape life’s challenges, pervert children, and avoid serious relationships. Theirs nothing brave or new about this world, these dysfunctional behaviors have always plagued society. The ending was flat and predictable; whose braver the person who commits suicide or those that live in madness, neither. The ending is false, it intentionally limited the readers options. Fighting with every fiber of your being for freedom is an option.

Historia
In 1960, Ishmael Reed, then an aspiring young writer, interviewed Malcolm X for a local radio station in Buffalo, and the encounter cost Reed his job and changed his life. In Malcolm and Me, Reed, the author of such classic novels as Mumbo Jumbo and the winner of a MacArthur “Genius” Fellowship, reveals a side of Malcolm X the public has never seen before, and explores how the civil rights firebrand influenced his own views on working and living and speaking out, and left a mark on generations of artists and activists.

Change the title
Revisado: 03-11-20
The title is miss leading it’s an autobiography of Ishmael with Malcolm sprinkled in. I enjoyed the opinion piece autobiographical information and historical context. It provides new insights into the times of Jim Crow, slavery, and the Civil Rights Movement. He talked about Trumps hate but the DEMS have instituted policies of hate toward Blacks example Biden’s Law which incentivized states to over criminalize Blacks causin the prison industrial complex. Biden demonstrates marked forgetfulness on stage and he’s the DEM nominee. Mentioning Trump without discussing the failure of both parties is misleading. He discussed interracial dating and the hatred spoken by Black nationalist however I would have liked to know why do Black men date White women at high numbers when they are no longer in poverty? Why when they are poor interracial dating is low and when they obtain a financial prosperity they date women of other races at high numbers? The writer didn’t discuss the why he just talked about the interracial dating. If Black males of higher income have high rates of interracial marriage the question should be asked why is that the case? Do Black women represent failure, do White women offer these men more opportunities, it’s unclear why interracial dating was mentioned. If the Black men who dates White women love them and their color is not a factor one should still ask why do Black men of means gravitate toward women of another culture in larges numbers once they acquire wealth and when in poverty they date women in their culture in my opinion. Are Black men who date women of other races doing it for love or are they trying escape hatch away from Blackness in America?
