Historia
Halley is on the run from an interplanetary political scandal that has put a huge target on her back. She heads for what seems like the perfect place to lay low: a gigantic space barge storing the cryogenically frozen bodies of Earth’s most fortunate citizens from more than a century ago… The cryo program, created by trillionaire tech genius Zale Winfeld, is long defunct, and the AI hologram "hosts," ghoulishly created in the likeness of Winfeld’s three adult children, are glitchy. The ship feels like a crypt, and the isolation gets to Halley almost immediately.

Bland sci-fi mystery
Revisado: 04-24-25
Overall the narrator is great and delivers what life can be brought to this work. I cant imagine reading and prepping to read aloud the majority of sentances making up the perspectives of characters because of how repetitive they all sound. Over and over thoughts that make no difference to the listener, or reader im sure, are flung into the spotlight only to fill pages like written waste. The whole story's twist is immediately apparent to anyone who's read a book before. It's more of a relief when it's finally brought to light because the end of the book is near and you now know it. I don't recommend this to anyone and it really brings up the issue of audible not having a better return policy as very early on I knew this was a regrettable purchase.

Historia
All Systems Red is the tense first science fiction adventure novella in Martha Wells' series The Murderbot Diaries. For fans of Westworld, Ex Machina, Ann Leckie's Imperial Raadch series, or Iain M. Banks' Culture novels. The main character is a deadly security droid that has bucked its restrictive programming and is balanced between contemplative self-discovery and an idle instinct to kill all humans.

Murderbot with the worst of human traits
Revisado: 02-25-25
I couldn't stomach more than what I listened to. A robot with biological parts made to murder hacks it's control governor and decides to watch TV instead. It sounded like a cool idea but instead we have an anxious and lazy protagonist who over thinks more than taking action. My expectations did not meet the reality. 0/10

Aided by a redoubtable British mycologist and a baffled American doctor, Alex must unravel the secret of the House of Usher before it consumes them all.

Forgettable story
Revisado: 02-13-25
The book is painful to listen to, it doesnt capture anything remotely like interest in the first hour. The narrator makes this worse but in their defense, the story they're reading is truly awful.

Cool story idea
Revisado: 02-03-25
The first few chapters are great, setting up the characters and the world quite nicely. Then for the longest time the writers forget that they've mentioned a certain detail mere pages, sometimes sentancsentences, and decide to repeat the same detail in full. More often than not the reader is bombarded by reiterating lines that it appears the story needed a certain word count or listen length. I would've been a much better story if it were trimmed and maybe focused on explaining things that were left out, like god engines. The last part of the book was well written and very enjoyable which to me lends to the idea that there was far too much focus on needless expansion in the actual story.

Historia
In a world where even the smallest and most remote village is being terrorized by the monsters that stalk the night, there is a hamlet, prosperous and peaceful, where mortals and vampires have lived in harmony for years. It is there that seventeen-year-old Sheavil Schmidt has slept, neither waking nor aging, for thirty years since first receiving the vampire's immortal kiss. The mysterious Vampire Hunter D is lured to the tranquil oasis by recurrent dreams of the beautiful, undying girl bathed in an eerie blue light and dancing in a ghostly chateau.

The narrator is awful
Revisado: 01-05-25
I've made this comment on the first one and toughed it out till now mainly cause I bought the entire series before listening to a single volume. The pros are the substance and topic of the story, and the voice the narrator uses for D and his left hand. The cons are the rest of the experience. It's hard to keep focused on something that sounds so awkwardly read. Each pause, response, or announcement of action or environment is just painful. My previous remark about this series being done by an AI voice bot being a better alternative still stands. I would not recommend listening to this series.

Historia
The year 12,090 AD. It is a dark time for the world. Humanity is just crawling out from under 300 years of domination by the race of vampires known as the Nobility. The war against the vampires has taken its toll; cities lie in ruin, the countryside is fragmented into small villages and fiefdoms that still struggle against nightly raids by the fallen vampires - and the remnants of their genetically manufactured demons and werewolves.
