Historia
Environmental devastation and economic chaos have turned America into a land of horrifying depravity. Assault, theft, sexual abuse, slavery, and murder are commonplace. And a zealous, bigoted tyrant has won his way into the White House. Directly opposed is Lauren Olamina, founder of Earthseed - a new faith that teaches "God Is Change". Persecuted for "heathen" beliefs as much as for having a Black female leader, Earthseed's followers face a life-and-death struggle to preserve their vision.

So dreary and well written!
Revisado: 04-01-25
It’s never ending misery. There was a tiny bit of hope but not really. Straight up depressing !
I say that all in a good way. I very much enjoyed this series. Very well written and kept me engaged throughout.
The performers were meh, esp the daughter, Larkins voice. I also hated hearing the main performers tongue clicking, it would drive me crazy but other than that, she’s straight silk!

Vickie is growing!
Revisado: 02-24-25
I wasn’t sure about her in the last book but she’s really growing and redeeming herself. She’s growing on me for sure!
Good story! I do wish it had a bit more action but that’s the only thing.
Ahhh! The performer is still not my favorite, her voice is ugh. She’s not horrendous at least.

Speechless
Revisado: 02-17-25
This book had me so messed up, and it just kept getting worse. It was an absolutely gripping story, and the sci-fi elements are just perfect. I couldn’t put it down.
So heartbreaking but Dana was a very determined woman and she has nothing but my respect. What a story!
The narrator did an IMPECCABLE job. Her voice was pure silk and comfort. I love her reading to me sooooo much.

Soooooo goood ! N
Revisado: 02-14-25
First of all, I’m not super into romance in general, much less steamy romance but gosh, this story was so dang relatable and Aaliyah is sooooo relatable. It was like reading my story in so many ways. I loved reading about a plus size beauty who is confident in her skin, she is me! It’s like we’re not supposed to be bc we are”fat”. I love Aaliyah bc she loves herself, as she is and every plus size beauty deserves that !!
Secondly, the performer is PERFECT!!! she brought this book to like and it was a beautiful performance. I love her velvet voice with a hint of a rasp. Ugh, she is good! What a good read/listen!

ABSOLUTELY POWERFUL!
Revisado: 02-10-25
I do not give perfect scores often or really, ever. What an incredible retelling of an American classic, that I really 20 years ago as a 10 year old child. It is emotional, and adventurous, and Jame’s determination to save his family is so powerful. It is so insightful and heartbreaking but his hope is so infectious. Genuinely one of the best books I’ve ever read.
The narrator was INCREDIBLE!!! what an immaculate performance.

Really good !
Revisado: 02-10-25
I’m a tough critic, and although this story was very much enjoyable, I just felt like it was too “Walking Dead” but I do LOVE TWD, so I almost felt like it was the same, just a different persons story, in a different part of the country. Also, Vickie is pretty lame and I’m holding on to the hope that she is going to redeem herself. She’s relatable to me bc I’m an aunt and I’d do this for the kids, no questions, but other than her being there for them, she’s not great.
The narrator was meh, she seems rushed and monotone, I wish someone else would have performed and since I don’t have the physical book, it is what it is.
I’m invested and already purchased the next book. Overall it’s a good story.

Koontz BEST !
Revisado: 02-04-25
This is seriously one of the best books I’ve ever read. The characters are just so easy to love and the complexities of each, their struggles, and the will to fight Exceptionally written, intense story plots, exciting, thrilling, I was scared and I was so on edge. Omg, the gloriousness at the bad guys coming to an end, Like Vince’s demise haha! And so complex bc he wrote it so we’d feel bad for even the outsider! Such a Glorious story !

Predictable
Revisado: 02-04-25
I love Dean Koontz but I realize that his stories are so predictable. It’s basically the same in so many stories.
I predicted this book the whole time and I was so disappointed when I was right every time.
Beautifully written, I liked the build up, complex characters and story plots, but was severely let down by the ending. I was just expecting more.

Predictable and silly
Revisado: 02-04-25
I did like this book, it was fun but it was so predictable. Since the first moment I knew something was up between Denise and Lisa.
Also, the whole story line is high key silly. As in the part of a sister agreeing to date the dude the other sister wants in a ploy to get them together? It’s so silly.
it was a light hearted read and I did enjoy it. It had its moments of deep emotion but did didn’t delve deep enough for me, the story line was too on the “surface.”
Also, voice actors or narrator’s, whatever we call them, I really did not like that they would say the Spanish words with an English accent. Like just say them normal.
