This book is my first LITRPG... I don't want to reveal any other spoilers, but it's quite a ride!

Loved the story, good narration, but why is this formatted as one giant 24-hour long chapter? if you are interrupted, it is nearly impossible to return to the right place.

It's an interesting exploration of the history of Testosterone studies: how they have shaped societal attitudes, how many study authors have massaged the numbers to get the results they want, etc.
It is dense with the jargons of medicine, the social sciences, philosophy and feminist theory, so keep the dictionary app open 😀.
Will definitely make you think...

This is a very funny book, but it has plenty of speculative science, things blowing up, great characters and assorted villains.

This fascinating mix of fantasy, horror, dynastic machinations and sexual politics is set in a fictional pre-gunpowder India. The voice actor is perfect; everyone in the large cast of characters has their own distinct voice.
I'm looking forward to the next installment!

I thought it might take a couple weeks to work through this book, but I finished it in 3 days. The author uses Anthropology, History, Philosophy, current events, and Economics to explain our global society's fraught relationship with debt. I found no real prescription for the future here, but it is fascinating.

For a book written half a century ago, this one still feels fresh. There are some intense discussions about time travel paradox and the ethics thereof, I enjoyed it.

I have listened to several books read by "Virtual Voice " and they were all right. This book includes military and aviation vocabularies, as well as acronyms, flight numbers, and non-English personal and place names; the stumbles and mispronunciations were virtually endless.
The ideas presented are interesting and useful, but the book deserves better.

First, Dr. Ede clearly explains the cultural, political, and scientific reasons why research on nutrition has been wandering off in the wrong directions for close to a century.

Second, she writes the clearest and most reader-friendly descriptions of what's going on in our brains, all the neurons, the mitochondria, and their crucial sources of energy.

Third, Dr. Ede provides statistics, and cites sources and case histories, as meticulously as she would have for an article for a medical journal.

Fourth, the author is also our narrator, which usually makes me hesitate before buying a book. But Dr. Ede has a pleasant, well-modulated voice, and there was never a danger of mispronunciations.

Despite the controversial theory, that she explains so well, of a link between nutritional inadequacy and the current Western epidemic of mental health problems, Dr. Ede is not a quack or a faddist. I think anyone battling depression, anxiety, or any of the host of other mental illnesses should listen to this book.

The AI writing style is heavy on adjectives, repetition, and a weird kind of patronizing encouragement. And the Virtual Voice had trouble with pronunciation sometimes.
I doubt I'll try one of these AI books again.
