Historia
Dominic's world had been a fairly simple life. To live his life to the best of his abilities, gain experience, level up, and strive to enjoy himself as best as he could in a backwater. Which, while tough on its own, was made infinitely harder by his father being the local executioner. All of that becomes infinitely worse when his entire family is murdered. Now, he's the Prince-in-Hiding for a nearly non-existent royal family.

Thoroughly enjoying this series!
Revisado: 03-12-25
Not sure why it's not called "The Glaive Falls" but maybe we'll find out in book 3. 😁
It's dangerous to be a prince in hiding but having the female support he does, had to make it a bit easier.
Looking forward to the next book and seeing if this series connects with the Runnerverse.
I'm giving this book 8.5 out of 5 stars.

Nothing but wildlife and women... Ash Brimlock the fire mage is done with his days in the kingdom's army. Looking to get away from it all, he applies for a job as a ranger on a monster reserve, a haven for rare magical creatures. Everybody thinks that fire mages and forests don't mix. He's going to prove them wrong. He'll work alongside two ladies. One's a real ranger with a bow and arrow and the snug outfit to match. The other's a shy, cute herbalist. Together, they will face misbehaving pixies, lost unicorn foals, and a grumpy phoenix or two. This isn't about slaying enemies and saving ...

This is an amazing story of a soldier leaving the battlefield and learning to use his fire magic to protect life, rather than to destroy life.
A couple of beautiful women to help him learn the ropes of the monster reserve make the story even more enjoyable.
I NEED a 2nd book.

A fun read with lots of great characters.
The world takes a bit of the book to somewhat understand. But there are different kinds of monsters. Some are good and some are not.
I like that the MC is growing and that the authors understand that he needs to grow a backbone. Which makes for a bit of fun watching him stumble along and grow.
I'm really looking forward to book 2.

Historia
A visit to London’s Natural History Museum became a horror show as magic flooded Earth. Now, Thomas is entombed there as a Dungeon Core, with only the creatures on display available as minions. All over the globe, patches of land have been replaced by strange alien environments, containing not only monsters from myth and legend, but also humanity’s worst nightmares. Leviathans stir at the bottom of the ocean, dragons have reclaimed the skies, and shadows are once again something to fear.

Revisado: 12-06-24
This book makes me think of the early writings of Jonathan Brooks with a bit of Jez Cajiao's "Age of..." series thrown in for flavor.
Great stuff!
I'm really looking forward to reading/listening to book 2 and seeing where this story goes and experiencing the author's growth, as well.
The skipping back and forth between character stories could be a bit smoother, but that's my only major critique.
Loved it❣️

Historia
A man. His ex-girlfriend's cat. A sadistic game show unlike anything in the universe: a dungeon crawl where survival depends on killing your prey in the most entertaining way possible. In a flash, every human-erected construction on Earth - from Buckingham Palace to the tiniest of sheds - collapses in a heap, sinking into the ground. The buildings and all the people inside have all been atomized and transformed into the dungeon: an 18-level labyrinth filled with traps, monsters, and loot.

Historia
At the heart of a trackless swamp, a murdered thief claws his way back from the abyss. Who he was is lost to the grave, but not his need for vengeance. Death has not claimed him; instead it's unlocked a darker destiny. This isn't a heroic tale; it's the antithesis. This is a dark fantasy where evil is as much a place as a person. In Tenebroum, our villainous protagonist, the Lich, strives for a godhood fueled by the souls of its enemies, and the world trembles, ignorant of its impending doom.

This book is a great Halloween release!
An Edgar Allen Poe and Lovecraft style read in a fantasy world.
The writing is well done and the narration is just what you want in a story like this. Mellow and steady to give you just the right level of the creeps.
Having an evil sentient bog was a proper choice.
If you're into the spooky genre, you will want to add this to your library.

I liked it more than book one.
Revisado: 10-02-24
I was a bit unsure, going into this book, the direction Hartwich was going to take it, but I was more than pleasantly surprised.
I actually enjoyed this one a bit more than the first.
Quite a bit more action and explosions in this one.
My only real problem in this story is a king putting himself in harm's way and after an initial, "You shouldn't be doing that," everyone is just fine with the stupidity.
But other than that... Great story!

Stunning half-elf priestess at a spa hidden in the Borderlands—the semi-magical forest between human and elf territories—she would show me past the front door of a business like no other.

Great short book.
Revisado: 10-02-24
I didn't know whether to call this a short story or a short book because it is longer than a short story but nowhere near normal novel length.
So I just went with "short book."
This is a fun and interesting story with wonderful characters in a fantastical world.
I'm hoping that there will be a book 2.
Some great spicy scenes that add to the story, rather than detract.
