Historia
I'm Sam Quinn, the newly married werewolf book nerd owner of the Slaughtered Lamb Bookstore and Bar. Clive and I are on our honeymoon. Paris is lovely, but I can't shake the feeling I'm being watched. Even after we cross the English Channel to begin our search for Aldith—the woman who's been plotting against Clive since the beginning—the prickling unease persists. Clive and I are separated, rather forcefully, and I'm left to find my way alone in a foreign country, evading not only Aldith's large web of hench-vamps, but vicious fae creatures disloyal to their queen.

Delightful world of paranormal’s working and living together in harmony.
Revisado: 03-30-25
It’s refreshing to read a paranormal tale where a majority of beings live and work together in harmony. The world building is stellar and this narrator is one of the best.

Historia
Henry and Jason led normal lives in Seattle before they were abducted to another world. Their kidnapper, the vain, self-styled god Dolos, refuses to send them back unless they can accomplish an impossible task. Oddly, Dolos doesn't seem to care if they succeed or not. Luckily, Henry and Jason studied Historical European Martial Arts (HEMA) on Earth. Unfortunately, a Japanese American EMT and a geeky IT programmer don't have many other useful skills on a sword-and-sorcery world like Ludus.

Why is there so much bad guy perspective
Revisado: 03-02-25
There is simply to much time spend with the bad guy being evil not fun evil or relatable or even interesting. It’s unpleasant. Like buying a box of cupcakes and every 6th is an actual turd instead.

He’s to return to Gretia as an undercover Blackguard operative and destroy Odin’s Wolves—an insurgency that’s setting his home world afire. good book but to short
Revisado: 07-21-24
it's a good book but it feels like the boom ended at a weird point. not a single thing feels resolved or to a stopping point. Thus feels more like the deadline ran out and what had been writen was published, or a single book was split in half.

Historia
Despite his victory against the Guild, Kers soon learns that there is now an even greater target upon his cloudy back. Typical. Then there’s the small matter of Marwan, the Dark Lord who wants to take over the world, and the Jade Citadel sortie that is on the verge of collapsing. Not to mention the fact that he now has to ‘get along’ with his neighboring core and deal with a mysterious orca-like monster that has started flying nearby…

would have been a fine book if not the bs in the end
Revisado: 05-03-24
spoilerish.
I hate when books do the fuck over the feel good victory cliff hanger bs in the last 10 minutes. f- that. This is not a fing tv show it takes forever for a new book. this left such a bad taste in my mouth I am going to request a refund and drop the series.

Historia
In the distant past, a time of magic and swordplay, there lived Harold, the mightiest lich of all, a master of arcane sciences, and a challenger of gods. After reaching the pinnacle of his power and finding it surprisingly bland, Harold waged a cataclysmic war against the gods, aiming to shatter the very system that confined him.

No BONES about it. Excellent VA.

I loved the premise and idiosyncrasies of the characters. I groaned as some where introduced but was happily surprised by how much I enjoyed them all. Can't wait for the next.

To much detail about the wrong stuff.
Revisado: 01-11-24
The reader was fine. I don't know if it was a translation issue or not but there was a lot of detail about dumb things. Also, very early there was a red flag for me. when the author is like "of the 2 remaining doors one or them had to be a bedroom, however one was an office." that is not exact but the however one was an office... the other was a bedroom. Why a however, it's written like word count was the only goal. I wanted to like this, I did. the writer seems to have never even did a 5 minute google of black smiting

Why the whispering
Revisado: 08-29-21
The book is fine, the narrator has some weird thing of actually whispering and not stage whisper but drop to 1/4th or lower volume to say something like the narrator is worried the listener might hear it... It's just odd, whom is that for? Sometimes you can still make it out but you often have to stop rewind raise the volume hear it again, then stop reduce volume and start again. If you have it loud enough to hear the whispers everyone is screaming, and if you have it at normal talking volume the whispers are not audible.

Historia
The war should have been over. But it’s not for a group of nationalists grabbing for control. It’s been two weeks since a missile with a nuclear warhead tore through the planetary defenses in the most blistering large-scale attack ever committed in the history of the Gaia system. Commander Dunstan Park of the Rhodian navy has been handpicked to command an experimental cruiser that could dictate the course of the escalating conflict. All he has to do is keep the ship from falling into the wrong hands.

stupid cliffhanger
Revisado: 08-11-21
BS ending cliffhanger at the end like a tv show trying to force people back next season. it's a cheap gimmick and it's in bad taste to readers who have to wait a year or more assuming the author does write another and sometimes they dont. The new narrator is not great but is fine enough, weird to keep changing but it's livable.

Historia
Life isn’t what it used to be in Earth’s megacities. Finally, having enough of eating crumbs and trying to stay alive, I decided to take hold of my destiny and join one of the space-faring legions. Getting accepted into a legion turned out to be a hell of a lot harder than I thought - until I met the Devil himself. Signing a contract and offering my soul in exchange for a chance at escaping Earth and a promise of power, I left it all behind only to find myself in a far worse situation among the sadistic officers aboard the Steel Legion.

Meh
Revisado: 08-10-20
I stuck with this book all the way of part one, but it felt like it never took off. The characters where flat, the story was lack luster, and the voice acting for several of the characters was grating.
