We all know that without water we couldn't survive, and that sometimes a cup of coffee or a glass of wine feels just as vital. But do we really understand how much we rely on liquids, or the destructive power they hold? Set over the course of a flight from London to San Francisco, Liquid Rules offers listeners a fascinating tour of these formless substances, told through the language of molecules, droplets, heartbeats, and ocean waves.

Historia
The guru to the gurus at last shares his knowledge with the rest of us. Nobel laureate Daniel Kahneman's seminal studies in behavioral psychology, behavioral economics, and happiness studies have influenced numerous other authors, including Steven Pinker and Malcolm Gladwell. In Thinking, Fast and Slow, Kahneman at last offers his own, first book for the general public. It is a lucid and enlightening summary of his life's work. It will change the way you think about thinking. Two systems drive the way we think and make choices, Kahneman explains....

NOT for audio book format
Revisado: 02-22-17
What did you like best about Thinking, Fast and Slow? What did you like least?
Although the quality of the content is very good, there are frequent references to images in the book you cannot see while driving and listening. The result is that you miss a great deal of the point of what is being said.
Would you be willing to try another one of Patrick Egan’s performances?
Not as an audio book. "Less is More", the author should have stuck with the hard copy book format only and not added audio to his offering. I can't help but view the entire work in a bad light now, it is a reputation stain for both author and performer.
Could you see Thinking, Fast and Slow being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?
Topic is not for entertained by video
Any additional comments?
If you are going to listen to this book, get the hard copy paper version too so they compliment each other

Historia
In The Righteous Mind, social psychologist Jonathan Haidt explores the origins of our divisions and points the way forward to mutual understanding. His starting point is moral intuition - the nearly instantaneous perceptions we all have about other people and the things they do. These intuitions feel like self-evident truths, making us righteously certain that those who see things differently are wrong. Haidt shows us how these intuitions differ across cultures, including the cultures of the political left and right.

Very fitting book to listen to after the 2016 election. Author packs a lot into the space of this book but does a good recap at the end of each chapter. My only negative is the narrators voice drops off and is hard to hear as he closes a sentences. Content is very enlightening

Historia
One hundred thousand years ago, at least six human species inhabited the Earth. Today there is just one. Us. Homo sapiens. How did our species succeed in the battle for dominance? Why did our foraging ancestors come together to create cities and kingdoms? How did we come to believe in gods, nations, and human rights; to trust money, books, and laws; and to be enslaved by bureaucracy, timetables, and consumerism?

Historia
In a world of self-driving cars and big data, smart algorithms and Siri, we know that artificial intelligence is getting smarter every day. Though all these nifty devices and programs might make our lives easier, they're also well on their way to making "good" jobs obsolete. A computer winning Jeopardy might seem like a trivial, if impressive, feat, but the same technology is making paralegals redundant as it undertakes electronic discovery, and is soon to do the same for radiologists.

Very relevant to understanding what is different in today's world with regard to job prospects, no matter what age or experience level you have. I bought the book because of my interest in robotics however it is much more focused on economic subjects and how they relate to growing automation used in all jobs and fields of work. Painful to listen to unless you are 20 something
Revisado: 03-03-12
What would have made Get-It-Done-Guy's 9 Steps to Work Less and Do More better?
Less of the quirky personality of the author. He had good points however the delivery method depended on being on his weird wavelength. Injections about things such as zombies to make his point were funny at first, tired in the end.
Would you ever listen to anything by Stever Robbins again?
If his style matures, the book is written to amuse the 20 something crowd.
Would you be willing to try another one of Stever Robbins’s performances?
Not likely that I would spend the time or money.
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Get-It-Done-Guy's 9 Steps to Work Less and Do More?
I listened to the book several months ago and just remember feeling, good points but awful delivery. Too many of his personal experiences etc I could not relate with.
Any additional comments?
I commend the guy for trying.
