Good adventure
Revisado: 01-17-25
This is a good adventure story with some deeper meaning. It also is a clean romance. I liked enough to listen to it twice. I wish Audible had more books by this author.

Following the address, she manages to persuade the handsome but reluctant new tenant, Edward, to help her with her search.

Boring, rambling
Revisado: 01-01-25
I hate books that have multiple character’s storylines going on and then some of them are just dropped as in the best friends story and the grandmothers’. Also, the main storyline didn’t lead to much so overall the book was boring. As for the romance, the male character acted weird and was rude to the woman throughout. I don’t care if he was traumatized it doesn’t excuse being rude to people or explain why she suddenly was in love with him.

The plot and descriptions
Revisado: 12-20-24
This story has a gripping plot, good characters, and detailed descriptions that make it easy to visualize each scene. It was a very satisfying Christmas book due to the descriptions of the Christmas pastries, markets, and the ball. This is a book that I would enjoy reading again during the holidays.

Historia
Obituary writer Nadine Barbault doesn’t mind being called “Lady Death”. It suits the ice queen persona she’s cultivated to survive the fast-paced Toronto Herald. So when Nadine learns that famous (and reclusive) author Dot Voline has died, she doesn’t hesitate to run the obituary…only to discover that Dot is very much alive. Nadine’s screw-up has brought Wesley Chen of the rival Spear no end of joy—she’s been a thorn in his extremely ambitious side for years. But the renewed interest in Dot also surfaced chatter about a mysterious past scandal.

Failed in two genres
Revisado: 10-25-24
It tried to be as romance and a mystery but it failed at both. The male lead was a 30 year old who still lived with his mother who phoned him constantly to give him orders so why would the female be interested in him. Spoiler ahead: The female quickly sleeps with him and then he steals her work. She gets mad at him but then apologizes to him for being mad. What?!!! As for the mystery. It turned out that all the “clues” that were left by the dead woman and the reader is busy following meant nothing. They did not lead to the resolution.

Repetitive
Revisado: 10-14-24
This book is so repetitive. It described the crime scene about twenty times. It has endless descriptions of the decor and people’s clothes. The so called mystery is almost nonexistent. When it was describing how ugly the same pair of curtains was for the tenth time I finally gave up and quit.

Since then, recent divorcée and reluctant ghost whisperer Alison Kerby and her 10-year-old daughter, Melissa, have moved in and converted the place to a guesthouse, where Maxie and Paul are now checked in for an eternity and ready to solve any case that comes their way - or at least spook the guests (who love it). Alison’s got a lot on her plate at the moment, however, so when Paul discovers the 300-year-old ghost of a small boy in the house, he decides not to involve her in the case.

Annoying
Revisado: 09-19-24
At first, I liked that the story was about a middle aged woman. However, it soon became apparent that this woman is immature, puts herself down constantly and says inappropriate things. I don’t know any 40 year old women that are this socially awkward and insecure. It is quite insulting to women.

Bad AI narration
Revisado: 07-06-24
If the future of audiobooks is AI narration I won’t be listening to them. I forced myself to stick it out through one book that had this same voice but I couldn’t do it again. It is terrible. Also this should have been labeled as Christian fiction.
