Totally one sided
Revisado: 12-04-24
The writers have taken examples of terrible situations in the criminal justice system and made them appear to be common occurrences. Since police officers and prosecutors are humans, there will always be unlawful and illegal activity by a few small number of them. To write the different stories in such a way as to imply those actions are the norm is not only misleading but wrong. More should have been said to indicate these actions are not the way the vast majority of people working in the justice system handle their cases.

Teenage narrator???
Revisado: 02-23-20
The narrator sounded like a deep voice teenager with the “coulD’NT, diDN’T, etc that is so popular with young people. Sounds like there is at least one too many “d”s in those words. He also emphasizes the last syllable of words that have “d”s as part of the first syllable— “wooDEN”. It is such a distraction that some of the enjoyment was lost. Otherwise a good book.

Brother Power
Revisado: 02-25-13
What made the experience of listening to Tommo and Hawk the most enjoyable?
An unusual story during a difficult time in history for working people. setback after setback, hardship on top of human interaction at its worst and at its best.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Tommo was my "most interesting" because he had all of the human frailties and failings, but accepted the love of his brother and was just smart enough to allow Hawk to help him.
Which scene was your favorite?
Tommo wanting to throw the spunge in to stop the fight and safe his brother from getting hurt more and Hawk not allowing it and ultimately winning their freedom
If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
Stength always wins in the end.
Any additional comments?
So unusual of a story that I was afraid there would be a tragic ending. Not so. Wonderful experience to be entertained and to learn. Narrator is outstanding.

Dave does it again
Revisado: 09-24-12
What made the experience of listening to Creole Belle the most enjoyable?
Dave and Clete are at their best and the backdrop is interesting and exciting. Will Patton is perfect fot all the Cajun lingo and dialects. I hope Burke keeps writing these Robicheaux novels.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Clete is best in this book. He is so reliable it hurts.
Have you listened to any of Will Patton’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
Patton is always good. This one is one of his best.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
It made me laugh at times and it caused my chest to swell with pride for our peace makers.
