Acerca de esta escucha

New York Times best-selling author Tana French, author of the forthcoming novel The Searcher, is “[T]he most important crime novelist to emerge in the past 10 years” (The Washington Post) and “[I]nspires cultic devotion in readers” (The New Yorker).

“Required reading for anyone who appreciates tough, unflinching intelligence and ingenious plotting.” (The New York Times)

Now airing as a Starz series.

In the “[C]ompellingˮ (The Boston Globe) and “[P]itch perfectˮ (Entertainment Weekly) follow-up to Tana French’s runaway best seller In the Woods, Cassie Maddox has transferred out of the Dublin Murder Squad - until an urgent telephone call brings her back to an eerie crime scene.

The victim looks exactly like Cassie and carries ID identifying herself as Alexandra Madison, an alias Cassie once used as an undercover cop. Suddenly, Cassie is back undercover, to find out not only who killed this young woman, but, more importantly, who she was.

The Likeness is a supremely suspenseful story exploring the nature of identity and belonging.

I’ve never been a fan of murder mysteries but Tana French has definitely changed my mind. Her characters are fully realized and they stay with me afterwards.

This my fav of the Dublin Murder Squad series. Great central character in Cassie Maddox. Magically lyric setting and gripping story. Highly recommended

The Likeness pulls you in just like it pulled in the main character Cassie. Just like her I didn’t want the idyllic life to end. But I was begging to know how and why it happened.

Fascinating

I loved this book and really felt like it tied together with the previous book in this series. However, I found myself wanting more at the end and kind of wondering why it felt like things were just thrown together. The story started off slow, but overall was a very well-written book. I think I just liked the story line so much by the middle that I wanted a more dramatic ending.

Wanted more at the end.

I enjoyed this book more than the first one in the Dublin Murder Squad series! The only reason that I gave the story 4 stars instead of 5 is that some of the plot characteristics and character dynamics reminded me of The Secret History by Donna Tartt, which I had listened to not too long before. Overall, the thing I loved most about this story line was the undercover cop aspect. Narration was great, too! #FemaleProtagonist #Thriller #Dark #Tagsgiving #Sweepstakes

Couldn't stop listening!

I'm with the minority of people who thought the idea that the "likeness" aspect to this story was preposterous. I was sure she would have some surprise identical twin reveal at the end (even though that still strains credulity for such intimate friends). That whole part was a little silly. If you can get over that, it's a fun story to listen to. I just listened to "In the Woods" and remember thinking that Cassie's character was the more interesting one, so it was fun to see her as the main character of this book.

Entertaining listen, if you can handle the premise

What can I say?! Tana French's story is great. Loved reading the story from Cassie's perspective. Loved hearing her life undercover. Really missed detective Ryan, but ok whatever. You kind of need to have read the first book to listen to this one, but it doesn't affect the overall plot.

The Narrator was ok, seemed like she had a hard time switching accents. Didn't affect the story, but was a bit distracting

More fun with the Dublin Murder Squad
